Silver

Well it's been 12 years so far but Northstar thinks an arc has been controlling the lows and hints at a breakout. $25.27U.S break should 'excite' us and monthly close above $28US go signal ?
Charts are monthly.

Was that a Typo, did he actually mean an Orc was controlling everything?

"Silver's entered a new era of supply deficit"?
2021 vs 2022
Supply stagnant, does not meet demand (nothing new there)
Decent jump in industrial demand, biggish jumps precentage wise in physical investment, jewellery and silverware.

Continuing the supply side issues with silver.
Ed Steers Gold and Silver digest points out that the short positions in silver were so large that last year they accounted for around 185 days of world silver production. Last week it was down to 138 days of production and has been dropping consistently.
And this despite continued drops in the total mine output of silver.

Silver faces ‘unprecedented’ shortages as demand outpaces supply

The recent annual report on the metal from the Washington-based Silver Institute shows that demand in 2022 had risen by 38% over two years.

Demand for silver grew 18% year-on-year (from 2021) to a record high of 1.24 billion ounces, resulting in a second straight year of silver deficit.

On the other side of the coin, the 2023 World Silver Survey noted that the global silver market in 2022 was under-supplied to the tune of 237.7Moz.

The Silver Institute deemed it “possibly the most significant deficit on record”.

“We estimate the silver market is entering a period of tightness unseen for decades.”

ANZ Bank’s Commodities team of Daniel Hynes & Soni Kumari have released a research note out called “Solar’s Silver Lining”.

Solar panel production, which is now a major user of the white metal, is soaring: this year China is expected to install new solar panel capacity equivalent to the total present installed capacity in the US.

By 2025, ANZ expects industrial demand for silver in solar panelling to make up 53% of the metal’s demand.

“This may not be alleviated by higher silver prices,” adds ANZ.

It seems that the Silver short squeeze has spent more time in the waiting room than the bloke looking for Godot.
Ever the bridesmaid.
I still buy silver stocks, more in hope than anticipation.
Maybe one day we will strike it rich.
Where are the Bunker Hunt boys when you really need em??

Silver up over 4% last night, continuing its good run of late.
Question I have to ask is, will the paper traders move in tonight and crush it once again, or will the potential physical shortages win out?
Will sit it out, in the vain hope that this time the paper traders get squeezed to death.
