Mr. Trump (The Donald) To Win in 2024

April 6, 2024 - Retired judge says statute cited in Trump's motion raises concerns on judge in hush money case

It's funny because it is Trump who is the target, what's not so funny is it just shows how easy it is to cripple someone through the U.S legal system, a half a billion cash surriety in 30 days is bizarre.
But the good thing is the precedent has been set, so no doubt it will be used to weaponise the U.S legal system in future Presidential elections, "all hail the Republic". 🥳
The Republicans finally learned that weaponising legal plays for political purposes will always come back to bite you in the ar$e.
Trying to impeach Clinton was always going to come back to them in spades, and so it happened.
The Democrats are equally short sighted in trying to use the legal system for political purposes, the various partisan legal manoeuvres indulged in by Democrats at both state and federal level will be turned against them at some point in the future.

@mullokintyre There is a saying that I really like "as thick as two short planks". Fits politics pretty well i feel/

Haven't really got a proper thread for this despite numerous Trump named threads. Saw an article on how the court cases are going and have summarised below, thinks everyone will find it interesting.

The classified documents case- in Florida, friendly judge, lots of procedural arguments, judge unlikely to sit before election.

The Georgia case where Trump tried to overturn election result- barely advancing and unlikely to go to court before election.

In Washington, the charge Trump tried to criminally overturn election - Trump has appealed to High Court that Presidents are immune from prosecution from all acts during the Presidency. The friendly high court will likely take as long as possible, early July, to make a decision meaning court case will have great difficulty taking place before the election.

We all know about the present trial which is small bickies.

Finally, charges of falsifying business records and making illegal payments, before the election to women etc. etc.

This one is in the Manhattan district and will go ahead Trump is sweating due to the effect on the bible belt when women such as Stormy Daniels, Tallboy centrefold Karen McDougal and others testify on TV in front of a jury. This is why Trump has released the bible.

It will very likely be the only trial before the election.

The protester spoke with a New York Times reporter on Thursday

At the park on Thursday, Mr. Azzarello had held up various signs and at one point shouted toward a group of reporters gathered there: “Biggest scoop of your life or your money back!” One of his signs claimed that Mr. Trump and President Biden were “about to fascist coup us.”

In an interview that day, he said his critical views of the American government were shaped by his research into Peter Thiel, the technology billionaire and political provocateur who is a major campaign donor, and into cryptocurrency.

Mr. Azzarello said he had planned to protest at Washington Square Park near New York University but thought that with the cold weather, more people would be outside the courthouse.
“Trump’s in on it,” Mr. Azzarello said on Thursday. “It’s a secret kleptocracy, and it can only lead to an apocalyptic fascist coup.” …

Some of the pamphlets [Azzarello threw in the air before setting himself ablaze on Friday] referred to New York University as a “mob front” and also mentioned former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Al Gore and the lawyer David Boies, who represented Mr. Gore in the 2000 presidential election recount. Another pamphlet contained anti-government conspiracy theories, though they did not point in a discernible political direction.

Trump co-defendant in classified documents case was told he’d be pardoned in a second term, notes in FBI interview say

Nauta was charged in June of last year with lying to the FBI and obstructing the investigation by special counsel Jack Smith, along with Trump who was charged with obstruction and mishandling of classified and national defense information. Both men have pleaded not guilty.

I was never convinced that Trump could pull of a win again. Looking at the Pennsylvania numbers and Nikki took a large number of votes despite dropping out months ago.

This is a swing state he needs to win. He may just need Nikki as the VP. The question will be if his ego can handle it.

If that happens I will eat my hat.

It wasn't long ago that the U.S media was bagging Trump for putting tariffs on Chinese imports, funny how the narrative can change.
Biden continued the tariffs also imposed trade restrictions on high level chips and has recently put tariffs on Chinese EV's and nothing is said about it.
Now Trump is back on the scene it is all about tariffs again
2019

2024
Biden to increase tariffs = good

Trump to increase tariffs = bad

But the Supreme Court’s conservative supermajority, which Trump built as president, came through for him in a way that many Trump advisers didn’t believe was probable. When news broke in late February that the court would take up Trump’s claims of vast immunity, Trumpland was so elated that a lawyer close to Trump told Rolling Stone they were “literally popping champagne.”
