Thank you @peter2, @explod, and @greggles for the very kind donations. They are sincerely appreciated.

Unfortunately I am having to make someone bankrupt this month as a result of their failure to pay costs orders. I didn't realise it costs so much to bankrupt someone. Funny how people can manage to fund four years of Supreme Court litigation but when it comes to paying costs orders after losing, they suddenly have no money. Hmmm....

That sux Joe.
Pity the "cosmic overseer" allows breath to the world's shysters.

On a happier note. A thank you for the generosity and congrats to the worthy winners.

Is there a backstory/thread I can read/whatever to this legal business? I am now curious

o_O

Aren't websites totally legally covered on account of being platforms, not publishers, in the same way that a theatre is?

Nope, we're publishers. I discovered that the hard way. There are some amendments to the Defamation Act (Qld) that are due to commence on 1 July which will make things a little easier for publishers.

Right, well, if I happen to win anything in this month's competition, donate it.
