Gee whiz... so David Fifita has quit Gold Coast, but didn’t reveal to Gold Coast management which club he would be joining, other than he was moving to Sydney.

Panthers or Roosters??

He had an option his way for the final two years of his Titans contract and the lad will take a pay cut to move to Sydney. The Roosters and Panthers have offered him around $850,000 a season compared to the Gold Coast’s deal which came to around $1m a year for 2025 and 2026.

The Coast will now have some good coin to buy a quality half back.... but who is available and will want to come to the Gold Coast and play.???
Ben Hunt was chasing a move from St George but the dragons refused to release him from contract. Thinking he is allot happier now.

rcw1 has never been a big fan of Fifita, not sure he did enough on the Gold Coast to support the million dollar tag. For mine anyways.

Kind regards

The Roosters will top up the $150,000 a season shortfall will a brown paper bag full of cash.

Dolphins v Sea Eagles (Bennett v Seibold) @ Suncorp. Kick off in 5
Redcliffe will be hard to beat and have Farnworth and Kenny Bromwich back in the side.

Bring it on.... Bookies have Dolphins at $2.10 and Manly at $1.74 head to head.
Gotta go with Dolphins. Rum time.

Beauty.. tipped 5/5 so far, your Cowboys better win tomorrow I have tipped them as well ;)
Cowboys lost past four games in a row... GC beat the Warriors couple weeks ago but have been struggling. Makes for a great Queensland clash. Pretty much full squads available. Although McClean is out.

The Cowboys worry rcw1 at the moment, cannot get the job done over 80 minutes or hold the pill for that matter. If you cannot do both them things and tackle, Cowboys will beat themselves, may as well have another go at it in 2025. They got allot work to do. They will need to be at their best, Des Hasler's Titans, bleeding fresh blood after their star Fifita tells everybody he is going to Sydney, ha ha ha ha

If Cowboys lose this one there will be blood and Payten will have a problem too.

Bookies have the Cowboys at $1.76 and Titans at $2.20 head to head.

rcw1 view at the end of the day, Cowboys by 6 points.

Good morning rugby league lovers,
It has been reported, ARL Commission boss Peter V’landys has outlined plans for the Perth Bears to be the NRL’s 19th team as part of a $400 million expansion project to bring North Sydney back to the big league. According to New Corp journalist, Peter Badal:

A call to expand to 18 teams could be made as early as June;

* An expansion task force has been established, with ARL Commissioners Peter Beattie and Kate Jones in talks with the Federal government to bring Papua New Guinea to the NRL by 2027 or 2028;

* Dolphins ‘expansion specialist’ Wayne Bennett has spoken with V’landys and indicated his desire to coach an 18th team from PNG — pending his availability amid interest from South Sydney;

* V’landys is in advanced talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over a $600 million “soft diplomacy” package to bankroll a PNG team; and

* After more than two decades in the wilderness, the Bears are ready to come out of hibernation as Perth and North Sydney chiefs discuss a joint-venture proposal for a 19th NRL franchise in Western Australia.

Them Cowboys are too cocky IMO

They only got going after it looked all over and then Val decided he did not want to score unless it was under the posts and was stripped on the way.

He cost them the game right then

Don't get why we'd bring in PNG?! I guess the gov' will throw money at it to strengthen ties and maximise soft power, to keep out the Chinese.

I def think WA deserve their own team, without some allegiance to a club on the other side of the country.

Over time I wonder if State of Origin comps can include a third team made up "the rest".

Some are concerned about the travelling time to WA but the AFL can handle it so NRL should be able to as well

I would like to see PNG just for the enthusiasm, it really is a religion up there but it would need to be like the Dolphins.

Getting lapped every game would be bad for them and the NRL so how do we get enough players to go there to live ?

Very tough place to live, exceedingly humid, torrential rain in the wet season and Very dangerous gangs that will target the "wealthy" players

I seriously doubt they can get enough good players to be competitive and then it becomes a bad thing for the country with lots of angry mobs hating the visiting teams.

Tough call for the NRL

yep exactly. Remember to that PNG field a side in the Queensland Hostplus Cup ....

rcw1 gotta soft spot for Norths. Not sure what the reason was to relocate across a million miles into WA country... guessing the fans don't wanna see that, but if it means the bear is back then ... thats good enough suppose... a leg in the door better than in the outhouse

Plenty discussion on SoO in the past expand it or not, eligibility changes ... etc etc for mine though Qld v NSW only ... the best of the best Maroons and Blues.

I think the bloke inherited a pig, way too many egos for a newbie to handle

I don't think WB will do an encore, I would get a bloke with a hard reputation and if that causes some players to depart then it will be good for the club long term IMO

The club and the game needs to think of the future because I can see a political career or an activist role being more important than footie for LM
LOL wrong again, Mr Bennett is going back to the Rabbitohs.....................

Go Queensland women in SoO 1 tonight. The place is abounded in maroon... XXXX on the menu.

SoO 1 won convincingly by NSW... beat us up the middle and our attack was smothered by good NSW defence and dropped ball
