Rugby League

Top teams far from settled.

who'd think the Panthers would be so far down. No recovery from this.

Dependable Storm still going strong,

Good afternoon
So then, Lachlan Galvin knocked back/well has been revealed his player agent has said to Wests Tigers, pretty much don't offer anything as not staying at Wests Tigers ... didn't even entertain... 5 million bucks on offer.
Reported that coach Benji Marshall and the Club couldn't take his game further ... ha ha ha ha this is with Lui playing the halves having won umpteen premierships at Penrith... and Marshall a champion player in the halves himself ...

Reported today (15/04/25) the senior players have jacked up on Galvin and gone cap in hand to Marshall. Looks like he will be playing in the NSW cup, this week-end.

Each to our own, cannot begrudge anyone chasing the $$ but don't know whether throwing grenades at the coach at this time of the year with 18 or so months left on the lad's contract was smart and showed the Tigers and the coach respect. Not the rcw1 way of doing business, I would have thought.

This is one hell of a firecracker situation. Truth be told, rcw1 wouldn't want to play footy with the lad. Reckon the CEO, Richardson will play hard ball and why wouldn't he??

Anybody else with an opinion on this one??

EDIT: Contract worth 6 million not 5

Kind regards

Kind of strange overall to me, far too early for him to be speaking like this.

Contract has a long time to run, I wonder is he looking to be allowed to leave and get a big pay rise for this and next year?

I thought he was far more effective than others on Sunday, probably their best back on the day over the whole game.

Hopefully his departure might fire up those who are getting paid a lot more money to actually earn that money, standing flat footed and passing along the line is not worth $1m+ a year.

Benji was a freak player, they quite often find it hard to explain why/how to play like them.

Players who were methodical toilers are the best coaches IMO because they had to work and think every game, they "learned" how to play rather than "knew" how to play

So many young blokes have had great potential and blown it all up, hopefully he can work through this and play to his obvious potential.

Was thinking too (you would have heard the noise ha ha ha ha ha) Maybe, at the end of the day its all about going to a club more likely to win a grand final like the dogs... and that Galvin believes (or his agent and or father) Benji would not be able to deliver in his lifetime.

Maybe??

Yes, winning a GF is a huge ambition for most players, often more important than Kangaroos.

Tigers won't be winning one any time soon (neither will the Knights)

One commentator said he loves the Eels, well he better not go there because they won't be winning a GF for a while.

Melbourne, Bulldogs are standouts at present to play GF this year

If you free, Fox Sports Channel 500, live, Benji Marshall, Koroisau and Luai will talk about the Galvin situation.

Anytime soon.

still waiting... you'd think it would be announced a firm media time slot after the Tigers morning training session...

still nothing at 11.53am ...

Don't hang out for too much.
Likely to be stage managed to the Max.

@UMike most interesting... questions without notice were askes by the media, all three participants were also obviously schooled prior to the interview as to the possibilities of questions that would be asked.

Overall thought the answers were reasonable.
What not clear is how long will be playing reserve grade and how long will remain a Tiger... Messy
Thoughts??

EDIT: don't think those involved can come back from this ...
