might well be right there macca. The thing is, maybe just maybe Mitchell is a confidence player a tad or so overrated. Flaws in character will not help the team win, especially if the lad believes he is better than everybody else and can do what he wants... not quite sure it is arrogance but certainly his confidence is lacking.

News report said Mitchell was shattered with Mundine's recent comments about racial behaviour.
Added to his failure in confidence. Dunno, but can play, not consisent enough for rcw1 liking though.
At the moment.
Latrell Mitchell is a star player, why he indulges in dirty play is beyond me. He is turning into a liability for the Rabbits.

yes, most disappointing. Very silly stuff. A disciplined team always has the best chance to achieve.

Have a very nice day, today Macquack.

Good evening
breaking news!!

The media reckon the Rabbitohs are looking at Big Mel Meninga to coach!!! If it is true, didn't see that one coming although the lad has coached some of the players in the Australian side.
Any ASF rugby league lovers care to comment about this development?

I don't think he would be interested actually, he is a pretty laid back sort of bloke and he has been to the top with the Australian team.

The only way he would consider it would be as head coach and then let Michael Hagan do all the legwork again

Club coaching is a **** of a job IMO

Great game that dogs v storm game. Dogs certainly a big improver... just going down to the Storm tonight.
Dolphins v Broncos underway, Suncorp Stadium sold out and rcw1 watching the game on Fox Sport. Should be a beauty, reckon.

Broncos were trying too hard early, once they settled down it was never in doubt

Good to see a quality win without their halfback, takes a lot of pressure off them all.

I noticed him out there in the warm up and at half time talking to the halves, he is teaching them a lot of stuff.

He will add to the club for another couple of years yet I think, Joey Johns is still in great demand in Sydney

The Dolphins would have gone the sheds pretty proud of the half time scoreline. Big Waynie would have been in his element. 2nd half, the Broncs ran riot, flexing talent across the park... wasn't the game rcw1 thought it might be across 80 minutes...

Thought Jock Madden did what he needed to do and some...
Sure, Adam Reynolds will be a club mentor of young halves... Wish the lad was at the Cowboys. Reynolds has some unfinished business losing that GF against Penrith. A lion with a thorn in foot...

Cowboys got beat by the Eels... There will be a problem when they get home, crisis meeting... Reckon Chad Townsend might be in a spot of bother... Young Tom Chester, primed to have a go ... Just rcw1 opinion. Also Taumalolo's form has concerned rcw1 for some time now... good to see he actually looked hungry and took the pill up with some authority in the 2nd half. Dunno but reckon there might be some changes to the line up.

Oh Fifita, get hold of yourself.... for mine you are not worth the coin being paid... just right now, for mine, you wanna watch yourself that big Dessy don't get rid you and buy two for one for that money ...

Why the Titans would allow this opportunity in his contract is beyond rcw1. Somewhat a destabilizing clause really, especially now with the way the Titans are playing.... Anyways just rcw1 thoughts.

FIFITA LEAVES TITANS HANGING
TRAVIS MEYN

Des Hasler is “pretty confident” David Fifita won’t quit the Titans as Canberra leaves the door ajar for Gold Coast’s $1 million man. Fifita has left the Titans hanging when it comes to making a decision on the contract clause that gives him the power to walk out this year. As part of a $3 million contract extension inked last year, the Titans agreed to insert a clause that allowed Fifita until round 10 this season to exit the deal if he wasn’t happy with the direction under Hasler following the sacking of Justin Holbrook.

It is now round 6 and Fifita is yet to inform the Titans of his intentions, leaving the club in recruitment limbo given the enormity of his contract in their lopsided salary cap. The Titans’ rivals on Sunday night, Canberra, showed interest in Fifita when he last came off-contract and have not ruled out making another play for the 2023 Dally M backrower of the year if he wants to leave.

Titans coach Hasler confirmed Fifita was yet to make a decision. “(There is no update) other than the fact it’s until round 10. Once that inevitably gets closer, I’d imagine everything will start to heat up a little bit more,” he said. “I won’t go into any more details about it because there are none. “I’m pretty confident he’ll stay.” Fifita’s management is yet to hold talks with rival clubs, although they are aware of interest in the barnstorming Queensland Origin forward. They are expected to get a greater gauge of the level of that interest in coming weeks, but for the moment Fifita has indicated he wants to concentrate on finding his best form and help the Titans secure their first win of the year.

Only a handful of clubs would have the salary cap space to take Fifita on board next season and it is believed he is leaning towards staying. However, he is unlikely to rush any decision and may make the Titans wait until the round 10 deadline as he puts all his energies into helping Hasler breakthrough for his inaugural win on the Gold Coast. Fifita is only two games into his return from a pectoral injury but played the entire 80 minutes in the club’s last-start loss to North Queensland, running for 179m. Hasler said it had been a balancing act to usher Fifita and Jayden Campbell (knee) back into the NRL following injury interrupted pre-seasons. “We’ve had to manage Dave and ‘JC’ given they didn’t have off-seasons,” he said. “The high performance group and medical have done a job running them into fitness while playing. That’s still a work in progress. “They certainly add that potency we’re looking for in attack.”

After losses to the Dragons, Bulldogs, Dolphins and Cowboys, Hasler has wielded the axe on struggling halfback Tanah Boyd for the trip to Canberra. Campbell is expected to start in the halves alongside Kieran Foran, allowing AJ Brimson to revert to his favoured position of fullback in what is a more dangerous looking team. Hasler said the Titans had to improve their ball control and ease pressure on their suspect defence if they were to have any hope of beating the in-form Raiders. “At times we’re putting ourselves under too much pressure. We’re not the type of side at the moment that can go without the ball,” he said. “There are some good signs there so I’m very optimistic. You’ve got to show that endurance now and part of that endurance is maintaining that optimism.

West Tigers v Dragons about to kick off. Should be a good game. Keith Barnes tribute, a Tigers legend passed away.
Respect too, tribute to those that were tragically murdered in Bondi by that grub.

EDIT: Dragons in for a try in the opening two minutes ... !!

Great game Titans v Gold Coast... hoping league heads watching this little beauty. Golden point time...

EDIT: with seconds to go on the clock Raiders Jamal Fogarty kicks the field goal

Good morning rugby league lovers,
So then the Dragons comprehensively beat the Warriors in Wollongong, 5 tries too two....
Going to watch the game again...

Two very good coaches, for mine, both Webster and Flanagan.

Just over a month or so away from the naming of the Qld State of Origin squad for the opening game...
Tom Gilbert and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui have season-ending injuries and Coen Hess is also injured. So who does the Maroons go with?? The other problem, well, its a good problem, if there is any such thing !!! Reece Walsh or Kalyn Ponga
or both ???

I would have Reece simply because he is a maniac, they do well in Origin

Unpredictability is what wins the game, when it is an armwrestle the player with the magic IT is the go to man

@macca
you watching the sharkies v cowboys game at the minute?

Edit:
So then sharkies hammering the cowboys line and a front rower steps and steps and steps and the cowboys flawed defence is exposed once again... long way to go but.. jeepers!!!

Edit2: sharkies on fire. ... hard to watch from a cowboys supporter perspective... allot to do

How long can Rabbitohs coach Demetriou last? They have the bye this round. Next game is Storm IN Melbourne - definitely would tip Storm on that one. Then week after is Panthers - also Panthers would be the go there I reckon. After that they have four teams in a row (Dragons, Cowboys, Eels, Titans) where they have a better chance for a win.

The Bennett collection of egos leaves the place a mess again, he can handle them because he has the reputation but when an inexperienced coach gets there they loose the plot

Same happened at Knights

Current losses make all the talk about Wighton moving over to maximise chances of grabbing a premiership seem funny.
