Recession, banks, and change of plans

Hi Friends

This is by far the best forum I have visited for investment tips, guidance, and knowledge. I think we have really prop people here. I am new to the group and relatively new to investing. Gathering information and have been doing small things for a few years. Without wasting more time I would come to the point directly, given the current recession and downwards movement of markets what do you guys think about the relatively safe (I know nothing is safe in this land) landing ground for money for 2 - 3 years?

Yes, that was a weird one, wanted to discuss safe option, doesn't want advice and doesn't say what options he was considering.
I guess he was looking for advice after all.
