maybe that is why he is so disconnected from 'Struggle Street 'Any time I have seen him speaking on TV it has been from Canberra so I have incorrectly assumed they were there
Struggle street isn't his portfolio, that's the problem these days, the media dictates whose responsible for the outcomes, but don't explain who is responsible for the inputs that cause the outcomes.maybe that is why he is so disconnected from 'Struggle Street '
SSHSSH !Struggle street isn't his portfolio, that's the problem these days, the media dictates whose responsible for the outcomes, but don't explain who is responsible for the inputs that cause the outcomes.
So those who are causing the poor outcomes are never highlighted by the media, the media only highlight those who are causing pain trying to mitigate the outcomes.
Why would I as a reporter living in Sydney on pretty good money want to prick the bubble? I ask you FFS. ?
Just my thoughts.
I'll put it another way, i'm a sparky which is a licensed trade, why not make houses low voltage? most appliances now can run on 12v so why have everything on 230v then step it down?
If it was all low voltage anyone could work on it OMG, what am I saying. ?
Only joking but it isn't far from the truth, but it does show how vested interests don't always make charitable decisions or paint a perfect picture.
My oldest son is completely off grid, own water, own septics.SSHSSH !
@ 12 volt many households could basically live off-grid ( add maybe a wood or gas fired grill/oven ) ( no more smart meters-carbon mapping )
The market knows twiddley squat unless it sits inside of the head of the RBA LoweLmao, surprise hike by Phil Lowe. What a legend.
I especially love the bit where the market was predicting a 100% chance of no hike. Really goes to show that the market doesn't always price it in correctly....
Similar for us also. Not completely off grid , 200,000 gallons of rain water storage, a resonable bore 135 grains, septic system, own meat, eggs and fruit. Just need to find a cheap outlet for diesel and petrol and then not too many worriesMy oldest son is completely off grid, own water, own septics.
so far the new property isn't completely , still gets grid power ( but have solar and a back up generator ) that can be remedied ( extra panels with a battery and potential for wind harnessing as well , apart from the two bores )My oldest son is completely off grid, own water, own septics.
Good stuff. I found that a 7kva gen was perfect for us runs the whole house and we have 3ph powerso far the new property isn't completely , still gets grid power ( but have solar and a back up generator ) that can be remedied ( extra panels with a battery and potential for wind harnessing as well , apart from the two bores )
0.5% would have been a shock ( to me )Treasurer Jim Chalmers has been urged to overturn the RBA’s shock decision to hike rates.
Amid fears the latest hike could result in a recession, the government has been urged to take the unprecedented step of direct intervention.
“The RBA’s decision to raise interest rates again beggars belief and will smash renters and mortgage holders even harder than they were being smashed already,” Greens Senator Nick McKim said.
“The RBA is out of control. Jim Chalmers needs to use his powers and step in and overrule this terrible decision.
the gen is already there and set up will check to see if it can push out 415V as well for heavy stuff like weldingGood stuff. I found that a 7kva gen was perfect for us runs the whole house and we have 3ph power
Back in the day when the kids were in primary school we ran about 50 laying hens. They had a good cash flow from the two pubs in town supplying them with as many cackle berries that were laid. They did the work and She who isnever wrong did the delivery and C.Ash pick-up for themthe gen is already there and set up will check to see if it can push out 415V as well for heavy stuff like welding
the waterworks have been independent for over 20 years ( water in waste out
am still working on 'the creatures' ( you can have when not in the 'burbs ) , one hen isn't going to be a lot of productivity
A perfect example being the building code adding around 15% to a new house cost..... that's on top of inflation.vested interest masking as safety, saving the planet or just because we canStruggle street isn't his portfolio, that's the problem these days, the media dictates whose responsible for the outcomes, but don't explain who is responsible for the inputs that cause the outcomes.

Anyone who was "surprised" by the rate rise was just high on hope-ium. Inflation running so hot left no other reasonable course of action.

Kudos to him. A harder task in the norf. Awesome stuff! Here we go,
When I was a lad, my grandad had two chook batteries 600 laying hens in each, an acre of planting paddock for potatoes or whatever, a small but productive granny smith orchard, 10 stye piggery and delivered school lunches, all on 7 acres.
He changed his cars on a regular basis.
He left school at 13 and worked in the coal mines, you wouldn't meet a harder bloke in your life. Lol
That was in North East Yorkshire not Australia. Lol
Politicians, yes. But it's especially the outrage by those connected to real estate sales and home loan lending that makes one chuckle. Perhaps there's a little guilty conscience in encouraging people to overextend themselves, loan-wise.Politician wailing and gnashing of teeth is both satisfying and proof of the correctness of the action (if not still way underdone).
Obviously hard work never dented his enthusiasm to get along in life. i would have imagined it would have a pretty tough gig in them those dar days. Here we go,

There'd a be a lot to fear if he did so.Treasurer Jim Chalmers has been urged to overturn the RBA’s shock decision to hike rates.
