It's Raining

It has been a while coming today, but the drizzly rain has arrived.
Just dropping from the sky with no wind, and as long as it keeps it as is, then no damage to the barren paddocks.
Forecast 3-15mm for today.

I'm working around the flat side of Bullsbrook today, nice soaking rain here.

It has been bucketing down in Mandurah, yesterday and today.
I had to go to Malaga this afternoon. It was a crazy drive with idiots speeding past me in pretty heavy rain.
Apparently if the speed limit is 100kph then that's what you do.
Me I just drive to the conditions and hope to arrive at the destination in a one piece.

It's been a good rain event here on the Scarp with over 30mm falling in the past 24 hours.
Little to no wind, just the odd heavy shower.
Paddocks all have lakes formed on them.
Just shows how hard the ground has become with the endless summer sun baking them.
Should be enough for run-off to start into the paddock dams and a goodly amount is being caught in the rainwater tanks.
A solid rain event to also forecast for today.
Bring in on Huey!!!!!!

It has certainly freshened things up on the Millendon Ponderosa. Mrs is certainly happy not having to stand around with a hose trying to keep things alive.

@wayneL The greenery has returned after being killed off in the past couple of weeks.
So much easier on the eye and soul.
Will be checking on the dams at Red Hill this arvo to see if any run-off yet

Another wet day on the cards for today. Over 20mm Could see about another 15mm if the forecast is correct. To date from this system 65 mm has hit the gauge. from overnight till now.
I am noticing this swan river starting to trickle along a bit as well

Being the generous folk we are here in WA, even though we have suffered months of drought and baking sun, our recent rain event is now traversing into SA and then Vic and Tas.
But not to worry after the weekends deluge that is expected here, we will then share this with you lost East of the WA/SA border next week.
No thankyous are necessary, as we a generous lot.🤣🤣

Clambered out of bed this morning and found that it had rained on us a fair bit overnight, this day seems to be a dying out one. Some rain is forecast but looks as if the lakes in the paddocks are slowly being soaked up.

The capeweed at The Ponderosa is very happy. Time for chemical warfare :devilish:

Been raining in Adelaide today and also yesterday morning. Just as a few trees were starting to die etc hopefully they come back OK.

As for other states, well I see it's a tad breezy down in Tas at the moment. Winds up to 152 km/h recorded, including 98 km/h in the Hobart city area. So a bit breezy down there.

@Smurf1976 As I said in an earlier post we here in WA are extremely generous and more than willing to share the wet weather Australia wide.
Next big event is Saturday night and Sunday.
Perhaps Monday and Tuesday East of the WA/SA border.

Me flaming rain gauge overflowed so I don't know how much we had yesterday it tops out at 150ml so that is enough for one day.

Our top verandah has had about 10 pairs of lorikeets snuggling up and sheltering from the rain for the past two days, its so wet even the ducks are complaining🦆

Well our expected big day of rain turned out to be a bit of a fizzer. A few decent showers but nothing astonishing

@wayneL well Wayne didn't really need that forecast of perhaps 70mm.
We have had over 80mm in the last few days so that is good.
Next events are going to perhaps drop a sizeable amount on us.

Well yes the Ponderosa is turning a pleasant hue of green... and I'm saving up for a tin of Jaguar® or similar ;)
