It's Raining

Well, the dire forecast of storms and dumping rain has not happened as yet. 18mm overnight with a bit of thunderstorm about 8.30am.
Still, this is enough water on top of the rest we have received in the past week to leave the paddocks in a sodden state.
It's pishing down at the 3DE, just nearly got bogged in the parking area.

Haha Ive
Should be plenty of green shirt brigade available to give you a push Wayne !!!
Had about an hour of low to solid rain so far with little wind.
Hah , I've got a qeue of nags to put stud holes in.

By Sunday evening I'll be able to afford a festive and ridiculously expensive dinner with family and friends

@IFocus Stoneville is where we started way back in 1979, over the road to Hillston and nearby to the Research Station

Grandfather was the 1st to settle in Stoneville after WW1 built the house out of mud from the creek staw from the paddock roof timber was jarrah of the block we lived in it for a year or so when I was 5 years old house is still standing.

Grandfather had to sell his motor bike and side car to put a tin roof on the home made wooden shingles leaked to much.

Grandfather lost a leg from a German shell in the trenches killed the other 15 diggers he never received a pension passed at the age of 55.

I love historic homes and would love to do a drive by, which road is it on?

Incidentally, our house was originally built in 1940 and met someone who lived there as a kid. Have also managed to track down some of the other owners over the years. There are several features of our place that serve no useful purpose but we leave there as just part of its history.

We have a little bit of history about the place we had.
A widow, Mrs Brown, had 7 daughters and all were married at the Stoneville Hall just after WWII.
We had a visit from one of the daughters about 35 years.
She had moved to Sydney with her husband and family and came back over for a look-see after the years.
A most interesting lady to talk to especially about the 7 weddings.
Apparently, the Hall really rocked.
These days the Hall is a private residence.

Learnt to play chess in the Stoneville hall you must have been close to the Cockmans near the research station.

Just up the road from us.

There were 3 boys from memory Gary was a year younger than me but always beat me in the 100 yards / meters all the way through primary and high school I was the quickest in my year but Garg way faster overall.:)

Small world, I left home to do an apprenticeship in Perth 74 / 75.

We moved to Soneville late 1979

The Research Station finished up as out neighbout when they bought Ted Talbergs place.

Another good rain event over the past couple of days with the possibility of about 40mm.
At dusk we had received 31mm and perhaps a bit more tonight and tomorrow.

Woke up to a very wet atmosphere this morning and the rain is still coming down.
A get out of gaol event as far as hay making goes.
With a forecast of some more next week over a couple of days.
Bring it on Huey.

Just had a look at the forecast for next week.
Looking promising with 3 days with precipitation, perhaps.
Is great for the crops at this the money end of the season.
Rain and not too warm days = $$$$$$$$

We are in for some pretty wild weather over the next couple of days.
Sizeable rainfall, with perhaps hail and thunderstorms and severe wind events.
Sounds more like the middle of winter.
Not so good for those who have started hay making, but for the rest of us it just might be gold.

Huey miss-timed it. The Perth Royal finished a few days ago. :p
