Futures trading journal - GB

3 rising valleys - perfect shape.

Long opportunity if it breaks 4212.75 with a target of 4224.75. Actually nah, it will only go to 44216, that's if it even breaks out. Not strong enough.

The breakout occured, went a bit further than expected but then fell pretty hard after falling short of the TL.

Waiting for TL breakout and will long at approx 4220.

Using the 3 rising valleys target, maybe the TL target.

TLs need to be drawn with extreme accuracy, not just plonked anywhere. Only then can you see if there's a breakout. In this instance, you'd swear the price touched the line then reversed, but by zooming in+++, you can see it's actually a breakout. The distance from close to TL is a mere fraction of one tick. This makes all the diffierence.

Be lucky to get 20 ticks out of it.

Most of my trades are RR of 1:1, if you want to know where my stop is.

stopped.

Would have pulled the plug earlier IRL. Absolutely no follow through.

However the line has been broken, and if the price falls further, will look to enter at 4200 for a bounce up to 4209.5.

Fed at 3:30am.

Will double down on gold if it falls to 1954.8
gold.

1954.8 is a really good buying level, but if it occurs, I'll be adding a second contract in an attempt to get out at break even.

First contract was bought at 1984, so break even will be at approx. 1969.

If it goes up without hitting my scale in level, then I'll have to take a loss on 1 contract near 1969.

what is the sim trader like on TradingView GB? Does it give you stats and p/l charts etc?
It does, but I'm not paying the ridiculous fees they charge for that. My demo CFD keeps recent stats only (a few weeks). I'm doing ok, but not far enough ahead that I'd go live. The step to going live has to take into account slippage and psychology, which makes me think - what % figure would you apply to demo results versus expected live results? How much would you subtract?

I'm ok at seeing patterns, but what I need is a level of administrative organization like say Skate or Peter. I honestly cannot bear admin type work and would rather leave it to someone else. The broker I've been looking into keeps good records, so I could probably rely on that to some degree. I suppose I should set a date: go live or stop.

Doubt it will go higher than 4169 tonight. Far too much overhead resistance built up last night.

edit: Stil in trade... just. 50 tick stop.
