Etrade problems

If it's any consolation, NAB was really slow this morning too. Got an order entered and it took 20-30 minutes before it actually showed as transacted, even though I knew it had gone through shortly after I entered it.

And market depth / open order refreshes were taking anything up to a minute each.

Oh Joy, I just filled in a survey for etrade, satisfaction survey or something,ha I swear I let them have it.:banghead:morons imagine asking their costumers how satisfied they are,have they really buried their heads in the sand?
 
Looks that they ask only randomly selected customers, as I wasn’t asked to fill one.

I was only asked once before, but my comments on survey weren’t applauding their performance.

Maybe I was struck off their survey list for being too blunt, who knows.
 
Market research from a website is set up so that every 5th (or whatever) customer is selected. So no need to worry Happy, it's nothing personal!
 
Since yesterday when logging out, the browswer window automatically minimises twice. Very annoying. I've finally had enough, I'm moving to IB. Cheaper brokerage to boot.

I dont wait for a survey to tell them what I thing. At first I emailed every time they didn't pick up an ASX ann or their system stopped updating. Then I started phoning them as well. :mad:

Had all sorts of problems today with error mesages trying to tell me LGL and GCR in particular were not valid codes.

Also getting really slow around opening and closing time.

ANZ stated they were going to improve the service once they took over E*trade, but I haven't seen any evidence of improvement yet. Don't know how much longer I will persist either.
 
It's not uncommon for the info in the Research section to be incorrect,
e.g. quoted dividend yield at 2.3% whereas in fact it was 4.7%.
I've found quite a few like this, so would be suspicious of some of the other figures also.

Re getting the response "no such company/code" etc. this happens all the time.
I can't count the number of times I've had to go to the ASX site to get the code info.

Anyone had problems getting into PowerEtrade. It's been taking me 5-15 attempts before I can get in. :banghead:

Or, is it Explorer? :banghead:
 
Problem solved. Apparently, a server (web006) within their cluster is having an issue. For future reference, you can find out which server you are on by visiting:

https://invest.etrade.com.au/test.txt

The issue can be resolved by clearing both internet temporary files and cookies, as you will be assigned to a new server (e.g. web004)

After trialing ETrade for nearly a year, I have decided to change brokers.
Too many IT problems and very poor service. I'm sick of waiting long periods for them to answer my queries. When its get to my turn they've hung up on me a number of times. Often when I get through their advice has often been inaccurate. They also don't go out of their way to help people.
I've also been overcharged a few times. Don't always believe their offer of 10 free trades. They started charging me after a half dozen of them. When I alerted them to this they were bothered and it took numerous calls to rectify the matter.
The final straw was this week when I told them that I wasn't happy with the level of service being provided. They replied "go elsewhere if you're unhappy." They've certainly lost my business. Other people I know will be doing the same in protest.
Those of you who are contemplating moving across to ETrade should perhaps read this post before doing so.
 
Great, site has fallen flat on its face once again. It was actually ok for the last 2 weeks straight which is a rarity. Someone ring up and abuse them a little.

Is anyone else having this problem with E-trade? viz the total market value of stocks which is correct on the 'Portfolio' page, is not correctly shown in 'Account Balances'.

This has been the case for the last three days. E-trade per phone say it is affecting about 10% of customers and "IT are working on it".
 
Here I must be in the 90% majority, but my account balance and amount available to trade is total fiction.

Which only bothers me when I know I have money, but system tells me that I don’t have sufficient funds available.

But they are working on it too.

This sounds like they use the same IT department as IG Markets... or reherse the same scripts...????
