Been keeping an eye on the Oz ladies in the one off test against South Africa in Perth.
Alyssa Healy has just been dismissed for 99.
In one of those perennial unusual statistics, both and her husband, Mitch Starc, have highest test scores of 99.

Former NZ captain Kane Williamson scores 137no to take his side to a 7 wicket win against a depleted South African side. Nz needed 267 to win in two days but did it in one.

Williamson may well be the best batsman in the world right now.
 
The Oz mens team is undertaking a two test match tour of NZ, but you might not know about it, as there has been very little publicty.
Its not on free to air TV hre in OZ, which is a pity.
This will be one of those very rare occasions when both teams are skippered by a fast bowler.
This might be only the fourth time it has occurred.

Nah, nothing on earth other than my wife would make me sign up to Foxtel, Stan, Kayo, Prime, etc etc,

Cameron Green just passed 150, OZ innings now a more respectable 362, when at 4/89 yesterday they looked like they would be lucky to make 200.
Last wicket stand between Green and Josh Hazlewood just passed the 100 mark, with Josh contributing just 17.
Pitch seems to have flattened out a bit, but we won't know until Nuw Zulund have had a chance to bat on it.

Green finished 174 NO, Oz got to 383 Nuw Zuland already 3 down for 15 with their best batsman running himself out.
could be tough for Kiwis to resurrect this one.

Had to drive about two hours away to pick up some spare parts for a drill seeder, and much to my annoyance., their ABC did not have the cricket broadcast.
Allan Macgilvray would be turning in his grave.
So in the meantime, the Kiwis are all out for 179, only a few runs higher than Greens score.
Nathan Lyon ended up with for wickets as the tyail enders tried to make hay.
He has now passed Courtney Walshe to move to 7th on the all time wickets list.
Next target is poncy Broad.
Incidently, extras was the second top score in the Oz innings.
Australia does not look like it will enforce the follow on.
Wonder how many they think will be sufficient to keep them safe?
They are 204 runs ahead.
Will 400 be enough?
450?
Tim Southee, who has been well down on form recently, and did not take any wickets in the first innings, needs to get among the wickets this innings, or the knives might be out for his spot.
And as I type, Smith has played on for duck to give him his first.

Good comeback by NZ. Smith and Labushagne fail again but it looks like we will get a fairly challenging lead, 350+

They were probably too busy explaining to everyone how sexist cricket is, so they wont broadcast it, then realise the women play it, the ABC first three letters of a fck up.
Loony tunes these days IMO.
 
Oz male cricketers wrapped up the first test against New Zealand by 172 runs this morning.
The margin almost exactly the same as the first innings score by Cameron Green who was named man of the match.
Nathan lyon got 10 wickets for the match, the fifth time he has done so.
He also top scored in the second innings.
He has also held on to the top spot for cricketers who have made the most runs without reaching 50, having got 1500 test runs with a high score of 47.
It is interesting that two Australian spinners, Shane Warne and Nathan Lyon hold the records for most test runs without a century and without 50 respectively.

Will Pucovski has been struck in the head for 7 millionth time and had to retire hurt.
Only lasted 2 balls before a bouncer from Riley Meredith hit him flush on the helmet.
When will the cricket authorities remove his license to play cricket?
The guy has got to be kept out of the game for his own good.

They need to go back to the good ole days, when men wore real helmets that were a fashion statement, non of this poncy light weight stuff they wear today. It also meant you could use the helmet when riding your motor bike home.



Then of course, you had those that just took it on the chin like a man.
Thankfully the world has changed.

 

Agree, he's got to be told, you're out. It's not necessarily because he gets concussion, but he keeps on putting his head in the way of the ball.
