i worked in the industry and couldnt get it that cheap. thats about the price of vinegar isnt it? lets hope your neighbour doesnt decide to do some panel beating tommorrow
 
lol my brother drank the same stuff last night!

My folks visited melbourne for their once yearly visit to see the kids.

On the way to lunch with 5 people in my VW we had to stop twice so my Bro could spit!

let's just say my parents are less than impressed!
 
Yea I seen in the paper the other day, bottles for $2.

What type of wine is it? Ie chardonay, merlot etc.

Tell us if it is drinkable.....

cheap wine tastes crap and gives u the worst hangover - try a nice aged pinot noir from Mornington Peninsula - absolute heaven
 
Its awesome, i know a lot of underage people (girls in particular) who are seriously gonna get pissed!

So if our taxes that we already pay aren't going to health, what are they going to?

these "cleanskins" (search google) are being sold off so farmers and other people can get at least some money instead of simply dumping excess stock.

I think they sell them without their true labels to protect their real value....
But some may be simply crap stock. It really depends on the batch you land with.

And over half of the world's fresh water is used in the production of meat for human consumption.

What drought?

PS Roughly half the wine I drink is cleanskin; it helps to have a local shop (wouldn't buy from a large chain) & to get to know the owners, as amongst the lot there is always a bargain or two.

In fact, we often get some sparkling (Pierre Deville, yes it's French) which is decent for $10 a bottle, even if the cleanskin label is on the front. Imagine my shock when I went out for dinner on Friday night and found the restaurant selling it for $5 a glass!

hmmm if you buy a dozen ,does the price drop to $1.98!!!! Perhaps its that anti-freeze from Austria! .Call me a snob,I just would not touch this wine ,sounds like too many sulphides adding to the headaches.
 
agreed!!! apart from the noxious palate and rancid aftertaste the lack of refinement of the wine itself means one thing! mega hangovers

tempus two shiraz,wynns coonawarra shiraz is not bad either(bit cheaper $17ish) mmm with argentinian steak
 
Ok,Warney,you said that you worked at a winery.Can you please tell me why egg is used in the making of the wine,such as Nottage Hill,or Banrock station wines ,at the back of the label its says egg traces may remain,or such.Can you please explain.
