Fire Season here in WA

Geez, just looking at the fire app, Tilden Park is in the danger zone again, poor buggers :(

Looks serious, not good mate.

I'm supposed to be working up there tomorrow, probably not now. Gonna hitch the float up tonight in case it's needed.
Wayne I came outof Old Coach Road about 5pm to go home. The cops had a queue from there to almost to the Shell servo. No traffic allowed past that point. From a couple of blokes who I know who were at the scene it was pretty bad.

Just don't take any risks, insurance covers most things, but getting your ar$e burnt isn't a nice outcome. Take care. :xyxthumbs
Mr sp as I told a few people recently. I only have one body, it may not be much to look at, but it's mine.
So safety first.
Property can be re-built but the body well that's a different matter.

Very nasty fire in the Kwinana area this afternoon. A sizeable warehouse gone up in flames and belching humongous columns of evil looking black smoke into the atmosphere. Belonged to Nutrien, a major ag supplier.
Another near the Perth Airport.
Not the sort of day for this sort of outbreak

Just what you want to see on the way home from work. The Ponderosa is in direct line.

I hope that isn't your hooch going up in smoke, or your stash of cash Wayne.

But on a serious note, hope all is well at home and everything is safe, how are the horses going they must be spooked.
There was a warning to leave some areas in Swan, on the radio.

Just sent missus off with the nags, yep they were starting to worry, especially as one has already been in a truck accident/fire. I'm staying as long as possible.

But, looks as though the fireys have things in hand 🤞

Got the call about 12.30 this afternoon that it looked as if my farm was on fire.
Fortunately wasn't the case.
Just got home a short while ago, as I did come home first at 2.30 and then got a 2nd call that the fire was extending its front.
We had a portion of our southern boundary in severe danger for about an hour, but the easterly wind kept up and the fire held a pretty straight line.
It was burning in a long steep sided valley in Hansen's Quarry which had a curve in it which heads North.
The fire came pretty close to our western boundary, which was a bit scary as on my side of the fence that corner has a few acres of bush.
As my farm appeared saved I have come home, only to find that we now don't have mobile reception.

I counted 5 fixed wing and 4 helicopters water bombing.
The fixed winf pilots must have nerves of steel as they were coming over me at around 100 feet not leaving a lot of clearance over the fire face.
Also a Hercules and a 737 water bombers were called in from Busselton.
Was hoping to see them in action but the belching black/blue/purple smoke blocked them out from our vantage point.
It looked as if they were lining up on Wayne's side of the fire.

Weather forecast isn't too flash for tonight and tomorrow in particular.
Relatively strong winds over night and gust up to 75k over the foothills in the morning.
Hope that we don't wake to devastation in the morning.

The wind is picking up right now.

Nags safe, evacuated to the Magic Millions complex, we're at home but don't think we'll get much sleep.

Did you see ScoMo or Albo? if you were on the East coast you would have had a visit IMO, or if they didn't turn up the media would have been asking why. :xyxthumbs
We only rate a mention on the East Coast media, when we are costing them money. 🤣

I asked a few of the firies what did they think started the blaze.
Appears to me that if they know anything they are keeping it quite.
I have my suspicions.
Good friends came down from Gidge to give us a hand, he an ex vollie. They also have suspicions.... hmmm

Going to be a bit hard getting some sleep tonight Wayne.

The problem near the scarp, strong Easterlies and strong Westerlies, always is a problem at the end of summer.
Gidgies a problem every summer.
