Ukraine War

South Korea is now a supporter of Ukraine and is close to adjoining North Korea and from there to China. The world is being split into two camps with gambling neutrals such as India appearing to back both sides. In a way traitors to the West as Saudi Arabia and the like attempt to benefit as no one dares to challenge them with Israel and Hezbollah heading for full-out war.

is concerning. The west is losing advantage on multiple fronts. China and Russia are quickly locking up Africa. They are pushing BRICS.
Sanctions are not what they were.
Russia has updated their experience in modern warfare. They have evened the war on hearts and minds with relentless propaganda.

With the upcoming elections I hope it's fuss free whoever wins the thing.

While men may be coming around to Ukraine's ramped-up mobilisation drive to replenish troop numbers more than 28 months since Russia's invasion, they are less eager to fight than before, said a draft officer, who uses the call sign "Fantomas".
The Ukrainian military told Reuters in a written statement that the conscription rate had more than doubled in May and June compared to the previous two months, without providing the figures.

In due course Ukraine will have sufficient weapons but will be short of soldiers, then what?

I guess you are right -
The Ukrainians are offering Legionnaires wages of between US$600 to US$3,300 per month depending on specific combat roles (the same pay as Ukrainian soldiers). In Russia, foreign mercenaries are being offered monthly salaries of at least US$1,200 if they join the armed forces.

I do not know how many mercenaries are in each army. A figure of 1.5% - 1.8% probably in the Ukrainian army.

But Vance has become one of the most prominent young Conservatives on the New Right who are now big backers of Trump, having gained Trump’s endorsement for his senate run in Ohio.

He is a fierce critic of Washington’s support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion and his appointment is likely to be met with apprehension in Brussels. Vance played an important role in a failed attempt to block a bill for more Ukrainian aid this year in the Senate.

He said in a speech at the time that he did not believe the extent of the threat the Russian president posed to Europe.

It looks increasingly likely the Ukrainian war is set to escalate as Russia and China seek to gain a foothold in Ukraine. Not long from a European point of view, the sights become set more firmly on India's role in buying oil in quantity from Russia. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." - George W Bush.

Talking to a friend following this more closely, the Ukrainians have jerry rigged their old propeller planes (crop dusters) with machine guns and are using them to take out the attacking drones.
Good stuff.

I find this informative and clear of most of the ysual propaganda from both sides
While written in blood, at long last, peace is on the menu, as was last visit of the Ukraine foreign minister in BJ

"President Putin accuses Ukraine of sowing unrest and trying to gain leverage before any possible peace talks".

Are there peace talks coming up?

Putin is now playing the victim.

Peace talks are happening, but outside the western sphere

That's bit like British PM saying Hitler, after meeting with him, was not a threat to the world.

a brief clip from a NYtimes piece... my bolds.

Ms. Duntsova, a journalist, tried to run against Mr. Putin in Russia’s presidential elections this year on an antiwar platform, but was barred from the ballot. Now, she is spearheading a volunteer effort to aid displaced Kursk residents while warning that the embarrassment of Ukraine’s incursion cannot be expected to lead to political change in Russia because few people would dare to speak out.

“Silence is salvation,” she said, shortly after an air raid siren wailed in the background. “We live according to Orwell."

a little perspective to those who appear willing to bend over and take authoritanism up there wide open 'trumpian ar$es'; and yes they are ass's .... It seems those in Russia are a little better Read on the subject, possibly the lived experience being of point.

Ukraine is making a big noise with the Russian military warehouses.

I thought this comment from another source was illuminating

UKRAINE DESTROYS MAJOR AMMUNITION DEPOT: Kyiv carried out a massive drone attack inside Russia, destroying two to three months' worth of ammunition, according to Estonian Col. Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Armed Forces Intelligence Center. Ukraine struck one of Russia's largest military warehouses, which was built to withstand a nuclear explosion. The attack was successful because some of the ammunition had not been stored inside. In addition, overnight Ukraine targeted a key military depot containing North Korean ammunition, ballistic missiles, and artillery shells delivered to Russia.

George Brandis heavily criticises the Albanese Government on Ukraine.
I am with him 100%.

For instance our old Abram tanks are to be made redundant. Why not give them to Ukraine?
We could have given them some other stuff and chosen not to. they asked us to send some coal and we said no.
