The intent is good, but the weighting the media gives it, is distorting the reality and forcing extremely poor decision making IMO.
If there is a major electrical system failure, due to poor judgement forced by media and extremist pressures, it could well end up with a lot of serious implications and in some cases loss of life.
But that aspect is given no air play, only politicians grandstanding and loonies gluing themselves to the road.
But that is fine, because it is one of the "chosen" narratives that is smiled upon fondly by the mob.

I'm at a loss why you would think any organisation that has a fanatical support group, wouldn't fall victim to manipulative coercion, that is their personality and what those with malicious intent prey on.

Getting back to my post, as I said some extremism these days is actively applauded, which I think is very similar to your article of malicious infiltration.
The difference is one is demonised, the other is actively supported and both could have terrible outcomes.
Your article talks of covert political funding, do you think that doesn't happen in most of these highly politicised cultural, economic or social extremist movements?
Or do you think that these high profile, well funded, positive media coverage articles, are just because the media feels like running it for public interest.
I mean really, if that was the case, they wouldn't have so many problems with defamation cases. As their coverage would be balanced in the name of public interest.

As you said the thread is about tyranny, tyranny can happen in a household, in a community, in a society, in a Government, just about anywhere that someone is exerting power to affect other people.

But history shows that the leader will purge their fellow conspirators and take full power.
It appears at this point of time that it is the fascist elements that are more likely to succeed. I have a good friend in the USA who is quite worried. Some in Greenpeace would love to be in that position but you need big backers that they don't have.
