Yeah this was a very visible, noticeable trend. If you want to understand how neo fascists are recruiting and their ultimate goals then read this article.

ANALYSIS: The terrifying confluence of anti-trans thinkers, American evangelicals, anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists and global purveyors of dark money poses a much bigger threat than you might realizextramagazine.com
Any extremism is dangerous IMO, the big issue that society has at the moment, is that extremism in certain fields is applauded eg climate activism.Yeah this was a very visible, noticeable trend.
That's the thing with extremist thinking and cult like behaviour. You are easily swayed into the next cult.
Please read the article SP. This thread is about tyranny. I would be interested in your thoughts.Any extremism is dangerous IMO, the big issue that society has at the moment, is that extremism in certain fields is applauded eg climate activism.
The intent is good, but the weighting the media gives it, is distorting the reality and forcing extremely poor decision making IMO.
If there is a major electrical system failure, due to poor judgement forced by media and extremist pressures, it could well end up with a lot of serious implications and in some cases loss of life.
But that aspect is given no air play, only politicians grandstanding and loonies gluing themselves to the road.
But that is fine, because it is one of the "chosen" narratives that is smiled upon fondly by the mob.
I just read the article Knobby and it highlights the issue of seemingly well intended organisations, being infiltrated by people with malicious intent. Please read the article SP. This thread is about tyranny. I would be interested in your thoughts.
I think the powers that be think they can influence the population and ensure an effective dictatorship serves their purpose.I just read the article Knobby and it highlights the issue of seemingly well intended organisations, being infiltrated by people with malicious intent.
I'm at a loss why you would think any organisation that has a fanatical support group, wouldn't fall victim to manipulative coercion, that is their personality and what those with malicious intent prey on.
As I said it is a flaw with all extremist organisations, left or right, religious or atheist, and as @moXJO said:
That's the thing with extremist thinking and cult like behaviour. You are easily swayed into the next cult.
Getting back to my post, as I said some extremism these days is actively applauded, which I think is very similar to your article of malicious infiltration.
The difference is one is demonised, the other is actively supported and both could have terrible outcomes.
Your article talks of covert political funding, do you think that doesn't happen in most of these highly politicised cultural, economic or social extremist movements?
Or do you think that these high profile, well funded, positive media coverage articles, are just because the media feels like running it for public interest.
I mean really, if that was the case, they wouldn't have so many problems with defamation cases. As their coverage would be balanced in the name of public interest.
Do you think all eco organisations are publicly funded and there aren't people with malicious intent infiltrating, to trying and manipulate the members?
Just my opinion and I actually don't give a rats, I just get annoyed that some obvious loonies go on about other obvious loonies and both sides claim the moral high ground. Which really shows how loony they both are IMO
As you said the thread is about tyranny, tyranny can happen in a household, in a community, in a society, in a Government, just about anywhere that someone is exerting power to affect other people.
tyranny
cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control:
AGROTERRORISM AND ECOTERRORISM: A SURVEY OF INDO-AMERICAN APPROACHES UNDER LAW AND POLICY TO PREVENT AND DEFEND AGAINST THESE POTENTIAL THREATS AHEAD Kevin H. Govern*
Terrorism exploits the freedom our open societies provide, acting to destroy our freedoms. The United States and India must work together in all possible forums to counter all forms of terrorism. We cannot be selective in this area. We must fight terrorism wherever it exists, because terrorism anywhere threatens democracy everywhere.
1 In the war on terrorism, the fields and pastures of America’s farmland might seem at first to have nothing in common with the towers of the World Trade Center or busy seaports. In fact, however, they are merely different manifestations of the same high-priority target
“Agroterrorism is a subset of bioterrorism, and is defined as the deliberate introduction of an animal or plant disease with the goal of generating fear, causing economic losses, and/or undermining social stability.”3 Its partner in crime is ecoterrorism, “the use or threatened use of violence of a criminal nature against innocent victims or property by an environmentally-oriented, subnational group for environmentalpolitical reasons, or aimed at an audience beyond the target, often of a symbolic nature.”4 Furthermore, “[a]s recently as June 2004, the FBI designated ‘eco-terrorism’ . . . as the [U.S.’] number one militant challenge emanating from inside its own borders.”5

In the last 12 years, court cases involving GM crops and nuclear, chemical and arms companies collapsed after protesters said they had followed their consciences and had been trying to prevent a greater crime.
· 2000 Norwich jury found Greenpeace director Lord Melchett and 27 activists not guilty of causing criminal damage to field of GM crops
· 2000 Five Greenpeace volunteers found not guilty of criminal damage after occupying incinerator
· 1999 Three women cleared of causing £80,000 damage to Trident nuclear submarine computer equipment
· 1996 Liverpool jury acquitted four women who caused £1.5m damage to Hawk fighter jet at British Aerospace factory
Whose to say they wont get it, or indeed aren't getting it, from outside the U.S ? I certainly don't know, but I do know that extremism from the left and right is not good for any country, but economically the west is being held to ransom by the left through climate activism.I think the powers that be think they can influence the population and ensure an effective dictatorship serves their purpose.
But history shows that the leader will purge their fellow conspirators and take full power.
It appears at this point of time that it is the fascist elements that are more likely to succeed. I have a good friend in the USA who is quite worried. Some in Greenpeace would love to be in that position but you need big backers that they don't have.

Apparently laws were passed to protect mainstream news. They can still lie.Guess who decides what is fake news, same as the USA I guess, the Govt and the security services
Used to be called censorship, now it is fake news.
What happens when it is subsequently shown to be true, can we sue the Govt for denying us the right to decide what is best for us?
It's getting ridiculous at this point.I remember as a small child being taught how to join the dots.
It seems many adults have missed the lesson in that.
Wayn that's probably because they can't count. I remember joining the dots 1, 2 and so on used to love it and then colour it in.I remember as a small child being taught how to join the dots.
