Canada the Brave

Mark Carney Canadian Liberals leader has won the election.

Could anyone have ever imagined a Canadian Leader having to make this statement about their long time friend and next door neighbour .

Carney promises to work with all Canadians to advance the country and protect Canada.

He says: “America wants our land, our resources, our water. These are not idle threats. Trump is trying to break us so America can own us. That will never happen.”

Amazing. They must have felt the other guy might roll over and let Trump have his way.

Just goes to show that The Trumpet is not the world's Messiah that he claims to be.
Looks as if he has given the Canadians something to stand and fight for, their country, against one what was once a friend and ally and now it would appear to be an enemy and foe.
I still have nightmares about a former Prime Minister here once being dubbed Deputy Sherrif, and how he glowed in the darkened room with that bestowed title.
Thankfully it never came to be.

They need to IMO.

Unless they cross the Bering Strait:

The Bering Strait, at its narrowest point, spans approximately 82 kilometers (51 miles) wide between Cape Dezhnev in Russia and Cape Prince of Wales in Alaska. This strait separates Asia and North America, connecting the Chukchi Sea (part of the Arctic Ocean) to the north and the Bering Sea to the south.

Canada tuns to Australia for critical defence infrastructure.

Seriously?
Some writers and the ABC needs a reality check.
Did Canada requested lanolin to grease their troop boots too?
Writing this is actually quite dangerous for a country whose whole defence forces are less numerous than the NYC police force.
Then citizens and politicians expect far too much from the single operating submarine , and the few jets we have.
And that is not a good situation to be in...

PS: i know the contract is about the Jindalee over the horizon radar, and yes, Australia has one but when the title hints to Canada switching military provider from US to Australia, this is master brain washing.
