Trump Era 2025-2029 : Stock and Economic Comment

Nah just a middle finger to trudeau trying to strongarm/bully him.

The response from the canadians was the height of stupidity. They have far more to lose here than the americans do and trump knows it, so he knows that even if he makes both their situations worse he'll be making theirs far worse than his.

It was a colossally stupid move by trudeau but trudeau is a bully that got very used to bullying (in this case, bluffing) his way into getting his way in canada and then foolishly tried the same tactic with trump.

Trump's just called him out on it. In a colossally childish way I'll admit, but he has. He knows full well he's in a much stronger negotiating position than the canadians are and so the responsive tariffs from the canadians have simply been met with even bigger ones from trump.

Truly abysmal statesmanship from trudeau. Abysmal.
Canada isn't 36 trillion in debt with China poking fingers in their butt cheeks.

“If people wanted to play the game right, it would be 100% certain that they’d become a state,” Trump said recently.

He said he was going to make Canada a state. Why do people think he is bluffing? First step. Crash their economy.

" he has been accused of this many times before and has come out of it smelling sweet as "

Trump smelling sweet as? Ha Ha ha. That criminal is only interested in power and control. If you don't suck his **** you are a loser according to the orange turd.
And did you see the hypocritical pig plugging Tesla's in front of the Whitehouse after he spent the last 10 years running EV's into the ground. I guess all the MAGA dickheads now think EV's are now cool.

It's sickening and pathetic and the drivel just keeps coming.

Alright boys let's start a betting pool on when the full on freakout begins.

Loser has to send @Joe Blow a nude.
NDX to 12k, DJI to 30k.

We haven't even started with the emergency rate cuts yet. Once the Fed approaches ZiRP and restart QE (because no one wants to touch US bonds thanks to geopolitics) then we'll be close to bottoming.

all you need is the right lawyers ( or in Hilary's case the right people on speed dial )

If he keeps on having unfettered verbal attacks on allies, they'll ditch them too eventually.

The UK is connected to Canada and the EU already think he's a fruitloop, Putin is broke and I doubt China will throw them a safety line.

He's putting himself in a bad position for interest rates to climb because no one will want to hold USD debt.

with friends like the self-mutilating ( or is that de-industrializing ) EU and Canada , who needs enemies

Putin is broke ? Mr. 5% ( if you believe the corruption stories ) i doubt that , he probably has bunkers of gold in the Urals

my father used to tell me 'if you have to buy your friends ... you probably don't have any ( friends )

Is this just temporary?
I expect a lot will depend on what countries do on the physical side.

If the EU reindustrialises on a grand scale then that'll be a very different outcome compared to if it doesn't.

Same with Australia. Are we going back to being an advanced economy? Or are we clinging to being someone else's quarry?

The one certainty though is there's no going back now. We're not going back to the way the world was a few years ago.

One thing I think is fairly likely is a "quiet" exit from US companies in other countries. It won't be done by bans or sanctions or anything like that, just "quietly". :2twocents

Putin blew billions on the war, the West has frozen their assets outside of Russia, and their economy is starting to stagnate. Their central bank has an IR of 21%, I would keep my money there rather than bonds at 4%?

What are the chances he'll buy debt bonds to help the US?
