Tips on saving money

QSuper has been a great scheme for me since I retired at Easter two years ago.
I draw down on earnings and keep the capital intact. Well... almost intact. :)

It works as long as my Balanced and Moderate options remain. No shares nor bonds!

Doris above , is still off enjoying that retirement , I suppose . ( After 12 years , could be still be above ground , let's hope ! )
"Money Management Tips for Tight Times " , ABC Radio's " Night Life " podcast from last night ( 3 rd September 2024 ) is well worth the 47 minutes .
Guest Author of " KILL BILLS " suggests cancelling the credit card every year to wipe out all the subscriptions and so
forth that you've probably forgotten about but are still draining your funds .

That is the single dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. Cancel your credit card every year because you're too stupid to know what you bought...????... My god this is why the west is failing.

If you want to save money you need to know where your money is going which means looking at your credit card and bank statements once a month.

I actually review mine fortnightly and place all expenses into three categories: Bills, Depreciation of fixed assets, everything else.

There's a budget for each and a separate bank account for balancing purposes for each.

Been doing it that way for a very long time and thus far has served me well. :2twocents
