QAN - Qantas Airways

I thought that $hit was only the domain of the coalition. Lol
never , although the ALP play that way when in opposition was amused to see Adam Bandt firmly in the 'club '

even more interesting is it is an ABC expose ratting out their political overlords ( and some high-level influence-peddling )

CLSA's Double-Moves

One last point of interest before I let you get on with your day. CLSA did something relatively unusual yesterday.

It issued a double downgrade for Qantas (ASX: QAN) from Overweight to Underweight (with a $5.60 price target).

Then, it issued a double upgrade for Pro Medicus (ASX: PME) from Sell to Outperform with a new price target of $88.80.

It smells like a classic case of playing catch-up but only time will tell.

And today I saw on the Idiot Box the former much loved bespeckled runt from Qantas either faces up to the Senate Inquiry to explain whatever or have the pleasure of having an all expenses paid, and three free meals thrown in holiday at the tax payers expense at one of the country's finest establisments. Free garb (green) also.

send him to Pokey now ??

after so many slaps on the wrist where shareholders picked up the tab , where is the justice in that

now if ( private ) property was seized and the proceeds dished out to customers and shareholders alike ( 'cos the shareholders paid all the legal bills ) that would be closer to justice

would that be the same Senate that frequently lounged in luxury with the accused , and others ???

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It is a shame that for many of us, and for the destinations we choose, QAN is the only option as a carrier. And at a premium price unfortunately.

gg

when travelling inside Australia , i prefer Greyhound bus , i like to see the scenery ( and small towns on the way ) .. because i am an investor LOOKING at the local economy has been a big help

but since i have moved this year i might have to change to McCafferty's ( as it is more locally located )

i like the simple booking system , just roll up to the terminal with a handful of cash and buy the first available seat going in the correct direction

i haven't gone international since 1990/1991 and Cathay Pacific was perfectly acceptable for the adventure

Just texted to me by someone on a flight from T'bar to Sydney😵

Muppet paid nearly $400 each way also...
(T'bar= Toowoomba)

Could it have been the surplus egg that was on the faces of the QAN board and senior management after recent fiascos?
Mick
Or was it was it the bespeckled one hiding in the cargo hold trying to escape the inquisition of the current Senate Inquiry.

A lot of the recent rapport over QAN stemmed from the decidion by the Feds to not allow Emirates to add to the list of flights into the country.
Ostensibly, it was due to the invasive procedures on several Australian Women by the ar$eholes that inhabit UAE administration. There may be another reason behind it, that has more to do with the Geopolitics of decision rather than the treatment of these women.
According to Doug Casey from International man, there has been a lot of recently devloped trade between Rissia and UAE,.
It may well be that this cosying up of two ar$ehole regimes that behind the scenes caused the feds to give Emirates the cold shoulder.

Probably should have put this into another thread, but had to start somewhere.

That may be an election issue - more international airlines allowed into Australia, with dome premium gates taken from Qantas.

My 25-year-old daughter came back from an OS holiday on Saturday, one day late, and swore that she is going to sell her Qantas shares.

To be fair, the flight into the country ran into severe weather and had to land in another city. The problem that passengers had with Qantas was that there was only one staff member on the Qantas desk to sort out a connecting flight and accommodation for the night, it took hours.

Next problem was on arrival to Australia, they had to get a connecting flight from Brisbane to home. They boarded the second plane, and then had to wait due to a baggage issue according to the captain. Two hours later, they were told that the issue could not be resolved in time and everyone needs to get off. Passengers were not happy, especially since the reason was 'incorrectly tagged baggage'.

Qantas is in strife.

"Two Qantas baggage handlers have been charged with cocaine smuggling while working at Sydney Airport."

"Terrain Terrain, pull up, Terrain Terrain"
Better hope the glideslope is working....

Joyce is culpable.

There must be some avenue available to prevent him from creeping away with his 100's of $millions from the total destruction of QAN value.

Goyder rules over an ASX listed company without any semblance of good governance.

Zilch, Nada.

Qatar airlines was refused the extra flights to Australia not Emirates, Emirates has an alliance with Qantas.

Exports to QATAR, while not as big, are significantly bigger than our imports from QATAR.
