They only band together to fight the Jews.

And the australians, the brits and americans. Oh and to kill their own women and children. And to restrict women from obtaining educations. And to mutilate women. OH yes and to anyone who ponders a different religion. The list could go on and on and on.

You're all quite right. The great sadness is that underneath all that are millions of ordinary human beings who will die in these floods,or their aftermath of disease, like the flotsam and jetsam of the waters themselves.

Taliban on verge of collapse, NATO and Afghan officials believe

THE NATO coalition assault on Taliban insurgency chiefs has led to low-level fighters taking on the US and Afghanistan is now at a watershed as the war enters its 10th year today.

The best Taliban commanders are dead or captured. Their men are harried and subject to constant attack and betrayal. They are under-equipped, overwhelmed and demoralised. In a word, the Taliban are losing...

..."We see an organisation that looks like any other army in reverse," said the official. "They say that their higher headquarters don't get it, that they haven't got the people, they haven't got the equipment. No ammunition. No detonators. Suicide bombers are failing to show up. Locals no longer agreeing to bury their dead or help the wounded to aid stations. Their leadership and logistical train has broken apart. The organisation is so chopped up that we are seeing mailroom guys trying to run the corporation."

In a speech in New York, the former prime minister said that warnings over the past week of new terrorist plots against Europe should remind people that they remain under threat.
Mr Blair said a "narrative" that Muslims were under attack from the US and its allies, who act out of support for Israel, had been allowed to take hold, aided by "websites and blogs".

The last commentary I heard about the Taliban was on Radio National, I think yesterday, where the US was said to be trying to bring the Taliban to the negotiating table, so far with zero success.

Anything is possible, but if they're suddenly close to defeat then that's a hell of a surprise to most people.

From previous wars willingness to negotiate often indicates that one of the sides has problems.

In this region, negotiations are only used to allow time to regroup and should never be assumed as genuine.

Telling stories like that :
“In a word, the Taliban are losing...” – could be psychological warfare to seed doubt and hesitation on who to support, which is also often used trick.

In other words, no idea what to believe in, but you never know, this time might be different.
