MUSIC - What are ASF members listening to?

Came across The Koln Concert by Keith Jarrett in a recent article.

This was an iconic improvised jazz-fusion concert performed in the Opera House in Koln in Jan 1975. The concert recording is the best selling solo album in jazz history and the best selling piano album. So there are some commercial chops for the music.

The circumstances around the staging of the concert which made the production a unique event are being explored in movies being produced for the 50 year anniversary.

"It's My Life" was written specifically for The Animals because their producer Mickie Most was soliciting material for the group's next recording sessions.(Other Animals hits to come out of this Brill Building call were "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" and "Don't Bring Me Down.") "It's My Life" has become D'Errico and Atkins' best-known work.

and a fun band live .. on their first East Coast tour, in sweaty Collingwood pub, much more intimate than this :

Yesterday morning at the gym I thought of this album and how well it matches with the current troubles and discourse in the world.

When I got home I had to play the whole album, it was magnificent and sad, yet also inspiring.

Welcome to the Machine, everyone.
