Pretty close competition at this point! Quite a fun month!

No thread existed for TMG the reason for not posting there.
I look today and try again and I find a thread - baffled.
I did leave a one line comment in the comp thread.
Sometimes I get really busy so have checked notifications for a while.
Really doesn’t matter that much the participation in the comp as TMG low volume and no price movement.

I looked as well, in Search I typed in TMG - ticked Title Search only and nothing. So in Search I typed in Trigg Mining then pressed search and up it came you can't win some times.

This issue has been noted with @Joe Blow however the individual problems with searches don't seem to be apparent...
My opinion is, if we put a ticker in, it should result in the ticker thread being the first result, regardless of trying to tick a tiny thread title switch/ toggle or dates or or etc
The issue may also be varying in nature also, how or why, couldn't say.

I've done literally thousands of Title Only searches for ASX codes and outside of a few ASX codes such as BHP and RIO, they have always given me the results I am after.

The reason the "Title Only" searches exist is so those searching can choose whether to search for a particular query in posts or in thread titles.

Title only search for "TMG":



Regular search for "TMG":



Either way you get the TMG thread, but if you don't do a Title Only search you get every mention of TMG in every post. Both searches have their purpose, it's just a matter of doing the search that returns the results you want.

Search engines aren't simple creatures. To get the results you want, you have to be very specific. It's the same on any search engine. If you're searching for something in a thread title then do a Title Only search.

You can search for a particular search query in posts by a specific user, search specific forums, have results returned by relevance or recency. There are a lot of ways to go about it and it does require a certain amount of strategy sometimes.

I'm not suggesting the search feature here at ASF is perfect, but when used tactically it does return good results.

This could happen as a result of a glitch. As you suggest barney, try a second search if the first doesn't work, especially if you know the thread or post that you are searching for exists.

Crazy month! Literally everyone is now below where all of us in the top six were earlier this week! Johnnycage deserves a special mention for quite a spectacular journey taking him the furthest away from the starting point

If you sped the month so far into about 5-10 minutes and had a horse race caller narrate it, it'd be more exciting than most races, sports, etc!
