This month there were four entrants who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @qldfrog, @mullokintyre, @88crazyhorse and @Dragonlurch. If those entrants post in the thread of their competition entry within the next 48 hours they will be added to the July competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

bought into TLS in November 2015 and averaged down in 2017 and 2018 before selling out in November 2021 , so yes i made a small capital gain ( arguably less than real inflation ) and the div. returns over the period , but all in all nothing worth bragging about

TLS to me seems to be one one those ( ever ) promising companies that seems to be too big to be agile

i am very glad my only exposure now is via ETFs and LICs

Everyone has been allocated their colors and all Tradingview's %s are the same as the competition ladder except for @qldfrog BBOZ & @KevinBB IOZ.

The chart doesn't take into account the reduction of their dividend allocated to them on the 1st July which is taken off their starting price. 1656737508777.png
BBOZ 30 June Close was 4.94 - 0.12990932 = 4.81009 now 1656736931951.png
IOZ 30 June Close was 27.10 - 0.61357206 = 26.4864 now 1656737226478.png
That's the reason their %s don't line up with the Comp's Ladder, the Ladder is correct so excuse the poorer performance in the charts . They get what they deserve ;).

@craigj KOR 18.75% had a great day yesterday :xyxthumbs and has taken the early lead BUT at the same time, absolutely ruined @Garpal Gumnut's mate's plunge with the local SP bookie on GG leading at the first turn :bigtears:.

Apologies to @Joules MM1 for the sparkles, below is the chart. Enjoy your weekend folks :).

It's a No from me
I just don't like Telstra

I have still not met a Man or a Woman who has made any money on TELSTRA shares

My only advice to you is
"Think Again"

I have made money dividend compounding TElstra past couple decades, also some profits via trading like recently entered at lows below $3 back and sold some at $3.75 and $4 recently. Dividends been really good past couple decades though recently past couple years not so good but the cap gains have made up for it. I think there is going to be a big dump in stocks final week of july when USA GDP growth figures are out and confirm a technical recession. Everything will crash but telstra being on of the few big defensive stocks should go down the least.

You can Average Down as many times as you wish
They are all losing trades IMHO!! and is the simple fact that "They went DOWN!"
The only ONE TRADE at the Bottom is your ONLY Winning trade IMHO
Well done!

Live with it! TLS has not been good to you either

When you consider your time lost holding the almighty Dividend Yielding Carrots for Donkeys
You will see what I mean

From your comments, dividend compounding is something you would probably not understand/appreciate as it takes time. Telstra will always be a winning trade for me as all my initial capital in it has been more than returned in dividends. My holdings in it currently are all what you would call "free shares". The income those free shares generate also allow me to either reinvest in it when the share price is low enough and i see enough value OR to buy other income generating stocks.

But yeah all this is off topic in this thread I wont be commenting here anymore cheers.

I forgot to mention I've added @mullokintyre SVL into the chart and ladder in 6th Place in my previous post as he did submit his comments in the stock's thread in time as required by the rules and @Joe Blow. I'm sure the official ladder will show this once it updates on Monday.

Yes, you are correct. I was mistaken and @mullokintyre has submitted his entry in accordance with the rules and has now been added to the July competition.
