For active traders, OpenTrader's Active Share Trader PRO platform offers unlimited custom dashboards, and award-winning charting technology with 90+ Technical Indicators, heaps of drawing tools and immersive live data. Create custom layouts as you see fit with charting choices driven by OpenTrader's low-latency technology ranging from tick-by-tick data to monthly time horizons. On top of their own proprietary analytics such as the Greed/Fear Index, you get access to market maps, market depth, course of sales and leading market news sources. OpenTrader's Active Share Trader PRO platform is low on clutter and high on value.

All ASF members and visitors who signup with OpenTrader through a link at ASF will get three months free access to their Active Share Trader PRO platform, valued at $297. So please be sure to check them out. Whether you're an active or occasional trader, you'll find them very hard to beat.

This month there was one entrants who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @thmpl. If @thmpl posts in the thread of their competition entry within the next 48 hours they will be added to the January competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Oops alright, now I don't know where I was. Thought I posted on this thread, now I can't find myself. Hello Joe Blow, sorry I'm off subject, I'm relatively new and trying to find myself around the site. Happy New Year, Joe and all forum members
Welcome @eskys, you can click onto your name up the top of the page and go to Your Content. This will bring up a list of your posts of where you have been.

@eskys, think of ASF as a big filing cabinet. Each individual forum is a drawer of the filing cabinet and inside each drawer you will find files (threads) and inside those files are documents (posts). If you want to know what files and documents have been added to the filing cabinet recently just click the "What's New" tab above, and that will list all the new threads that have been created and all the threads that have new posts in them.

To see what threads are inside each forum, just click on the forum title and you will go inside the forum and see a list of threads. The threads are listed according to how recently they have had a new post added to them.

It's all very simple really, it just takes a little getting used to.

Thank you, debtfree and Joe for your help in navigating. Most helpful, will need to come in more frequently and find the ins and outs. Thank you, debtfree, for your welcome, makes me feel less alone....much appreciate that.

For those who knew me, eskys is keys unscrambled with an added s. I note that other Commec members have managed to retain their names, however mine was taken a few months ago, so I gave away the idea then. Good to know there are some who've migrated from there and hope they are more switched on with technology.........good luck everyone for 2022

If it is any help @eskys and other refugees from Commsec the main tabs I click on opening ASF in order are
  • The bell top right if it has any info for me re replies or mentions of me. It usually has a number beside it if so.
  • The What's New Tab
  • The search making sure to click titles if it's a stock I'm interested in.
On with the Comp.

I found wearing distinctive coloured clothing makes you easier to find. What I'm wearing today.
You might like to use as your avatar?
Would be easy to find and the bonus is, lots of people are constantly looking for you also! ?

Eskys, are full of ice and cheer are always a good thing. Welcome!

More good tips, thank you, Garpal Gumnut and frugal.rock.

I like your bright and cheery avatar, frugal.rock. I need to walk first before I can run, so will wear that bright smile later when I can find him..........love your optimism; eskys full of ice and cheer, haha. I, on the other hand, think of eskys as cold and not sure of the contents they hold......

i would have been more helpful but i am a recent Commsec refugee myself ( under a different user name ) , so i have my stumbles and fumbles as well

welcome

Good morning divs, I know you would help if you could, thanks. By the way, glad you are here.

Can't remember the thread we or you were on when you said you expected REITs to drop.....it's here today, a deep red in the sector chart. Also end of year Commsec tweets, a prediction for all sectors. Sorry I'm unable to copy and paste it....if you are interested, google Commsec tweeter and go to the the 30th December for those predictions......REITs the only one predicted in red and very red..........but as someone said, predictions are like arm pits....good luck

Yes, and it is generally a courtesy to other ASF users stay on message in the relevant thread.

A little flexibility is the spice of life......survivors are the ones who are flexible and adaptable......and yes, I am respectful and polite, thank you for your reminder, Dona Ferentes

Hi Keys, welcome aboard, not surprisingly, no problems using my comsec name. :D
Not posting as much on here, guess still getting used to the platform and not trading as much, just holding my long term high dividend yield shares.

Oops just to get back on topic, hope I haven't given RRL this "Wedgy kiss of death" like some of my previous monthly selections, I am more a long term investor rather than short term trader so find monthly comps hard.

Thanks, Wedgy, nice to see you here....it'll come Wedgy, we need some time to find our way, so some understanding and patience from older forum members will be nice, good luck and take care

well i have two ( armpits and predictions ) and both will be unpleasant to some

remember most REITs are a balance between cash-flow and debt ( credit-worthiness ) spiced up with property values

and it is not so much the China property market itself , but who lent them the money to get them in such deep trouble

go back to the days of Christopher Skase and his Mirage Resorts , where you had ambition and easy credit

Evergrande was NOT using a new business model it is a tried and tested model that periodically leaves bankrupt wreckage all through the economy , the real question is who lent too much money to those Chinese construction companies ( you are always betting that the borrower can pay you back )

as soon as those lending out money get nervous , many healthy businesses will see the money tap turned to a trickle as well

but the global economy is a big mathematical mess , there is more than Property and Bankers that can go bad this time ... ( stuff like pension funds , and government budgets )

as a potential buyer of ( more ) RRL , that 'kiss of death ' would not be totally distasteful for me

but good luck in the comp.
