January 2022 Stock Tipping Competition Entries!

I didnt even open a real position with HIO, so sad I finally pick one that goes crazy this month and didnt have a position on it

Thanks though, was enjoyable to follow some crazy gains some people made
Sadly, I always have at least a small position with my selections. I only invest about 5% of my portfolio in small caps, and have always regarded these investments as play money, hoping one day I get a good one and don't sell too early.

normally i am looking to buy my selections ( so am hoping the share price will slide )

sometimes that is an extra parcel to an existing holding and sometimes a new position ( or more rarely buying back after i have exited previously )

BTW not all small caps. are speccie stocks some are just small well-run businesses

and in a world of 'activist shareholders ' the founder owning 40% plus of the company can be a good thing as well

Yeah, I'll have to star dedicating a small parcel each month

small positions CAN grow , either by the share price climbing or enough good reasons to add a few more ( of that share )

but not every 'small position' goes on to bigger things ( so small investments translate into small potential losses on that share , if things go badly )
