All these countries rush to declare a terrorist state which is run by a kleptocratic lunatic mob a country, yet also believe Taiwan is a non-existent country? Funny really. Terrorism wins. Rape and murder some civilians, use your kids as human shields, and you get what you want.

I'm surprised these leaders didn't announce this on a CNN interview with Christiane Amanpour - I thought that was the new diplomatic norm.

At least eight rockets were launched from the Rafah area in southern Gaza and several were intercepted, the Israeli military says. No injuries have been reported.

That's from BBC a few minutes ago. Meanwhile the ICC says Israel needs to get out of Rafah. Hilarious. The ICC has proven why is should have zero credibility. If you get bombed you cannot retaliate? If Hamas formed a proper army and used proper army bases then Israel would wipe them out in 5 minutes. They hide among civilians to stay alive (I would too). Those civilians know it and are defacto soldiers. If you aid and abet you are just as guilty.

Surprised at you. Do you think they are sacrificing soldiers lives and earning the reprehension of world moral giants like Albo and Wong for "gratification" or even "revenge"? The goal is the permanent destruction of Hamas.

Big job, how many times have fanatical groups been completely destroyed, ISIS, Iran etc, like I said big job and it only becomes a matter of time before the locals take sides.
Then the problem never goes away, IMO Israel needs to work out where the line is, there is a point where Hamas will never recover and the population will never support them for fear of reprocussions, once it goes past that line then the whole population will turn on Israel and support Hamas.
It is a very risky game to completely destroy the enemy, when the enemy doesn't wear a uniform, as the U.S found out in the middle East and Afghanistan.
When this is all over, they still have to live next to each other.
Fortunately I don't have any link to either Country, for those that do it must be a stressfull time.

In 2021, a book titled “The Human-Machine Team: How to Create Synergy Between Human and Artificial Intelligence That Will Revolutionize Our World” was released in English under the pen name “Brigadier General Y.S.” In it, the author — a man who we confirmed to be the current commander of the elite Israeli intelligence unit 8200 — makes the case for designing a special machine that could rapidly process massive amounts of data to generate thousands of potential “targets” for military strikes in the heat of a war. Such technology, he writes, would resolve what he described as a “human bottleneck for both locating the new targets and decision-making to approve the targets.”

Such a machine, it turns out, actually exists. A new investigation by +972 Magazine and Local Call reveals that the Israeli army has developed an artificial intelligence-based program known as “Lavender,” unveiled here for the first time. According to six Israeli intelligence officers, who have all served in the army during the current war on the Gaza Strip and had first-hand involvement with the use of AI to generate targets for assassination, Lavender has played a central role in the unprecedented bombing of Palestinians, especially during the early stages of the war. In fact, according to the sources, its influence on the military’s operations was such that they essentially treated the outputs of the AI machine “as if it were a human decision.”


..... The following investigation is organized according to the six chronological stages of the Israeli army’s highly automated target production in the early weeks of the Gaza war.

First, we explain the Lavender machine itself, which marked tens of thousands of Palestinians using AI.

Second, we reveal the “Where’s Daddy?” system, which tracked these targets and signaled to the army when they entered their family homes.

Third, we describe how “dumb” bombs were chosen to strike these homes.

Fourth, we explain how the army loosened the permitted number of civilians who could be killed during the bombing of a target.

Fifth, we note how automated software inaccurately calculated the amount of non-combatants in each household.

And sixth, we show how on several occasions, when a home was struck, usually at night, the individual target was sometimes not inside at all, because military officers did not verify the information in real time.

Israel’s Gaza offensive will last all year, a top official said​

Israel’s national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, said yesterday that he expected “another seven months of combat” in Gaza, casting doubt on the idea that the war could come to an end after the offensive against Hamas in Rafah.

If a country loses a war they often lose some of its territory as Germany did after WW1.

It cannot be denied that the conditions were somewhat draconian. Germany accepted responsibility for the war and lost 68,000 km² of territory, including Alsace and Lorraine, which had been annexed in 1870, and 8 million inhabitants.

As Palestine under Turkish rule fought alongside Turkey in WW1, British troops invaded defeating the Ottoman Turks. Thus an agreement took place which eventually set up Israel after WW2. So territories lost by Palestine were due to their defeat in WW1 - part of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919.

On 25 April 1915, 16,000 Australians and New Zealanders, together with British, French and Indian troops, landed on the Gallipoli peninsula. The invasion was part of a campaign to: capture the peninsula and help naval operations in the Dardanelles straits.
