Paranormal Experiences

I dabbled in astral projection in my teens and I lived in Peru for 3 years which required me to experiment a bit with other things. I think it's all in the head. Good fun, but, not reality.
Yes, I confess I also struggle with the idea of the mind existing outside the physical brain while the person is alive. Despite that, I have the conviction of some form of genuine life after death.

I think the idea of life after death is a cultural/religious invention to control our behaviour before death to make us conform to society norms. It's a form of control. Extremely cunning. I called myself a Buddhist for about 10 years and realised it was a load of crap at some stage.

Yes, life after death as a means of social control, sure. Especially the Hindu and Christian flavours. But that doesn't mean it's completely untrue. It's a big universe, in a bigger multiverse, with a lotta dimensions.

All cultural beliefs want you to be good in this World to control your behaviour now.

I'm coming back as a slug.

Lol but "good" is not the same everywhere - one religion's good can mean ruthless expansionism, another's good the quest for nirvana.

For my bit on out of body experiences.
Just over three years ago I was severley mauled by a 11/4 tonne bull in my cattle yards.
As I scrambled up the steel railings I slipped one rung, and he hit me and smashed my left knee and broke a bone in that leg also. I then hit the ground, and he came at me again this time hitting me and causing 3 fractures in my neck and upper back.
Now I am not a religious believer in any shape or form, but when this second attack was happening I was in an out of body experience, looking down and seeing it happen.
I was watching him getting ready to come in and smash me with full force of this muscuar power house against the railings.
At no stage did I black out and was fully aware of what was happening.
The only thing that I was not aware of, was that the young bloke who was with me, who saved my miserable life, jumped into the pen and somehow turned the bull around and into another pen.
Somewhere between the 2nd and pending 3rd hit is when I came back into my body.
Shock from this incident didn't set in for some time later when I was safely enconsed in Midland Hospital, and at that stage unaware of the damage done to this body I own.
Unfortunate as it was, I do not dwell on the incident, and don't suffer any mental distress over it.
BUT it has though, opened my eyes to what people do say about out of body experiences.
I do tend to believe them these days.

As an add on to the looking down on me.
I spent the following 6-7 months flat on my back with an aspen collar and full leg brace on looking at the ceiling in the bedroom. I did need help to get off and on the bed and with most other things.
I also did suffer the why me thing also.
Looking back on it now I can also understand how people who fall into that deeply disturbing black hole and can see no light at the other end.
For me there were a few days like that, but I was xtremely fortunate to have great family and friends.
Though I did not take up the offer of outside help It was made available to me through a great GP

People such as Adam Gilchrist and Peter Brock have reported having sensations of being out of their bodies and looking down at moments of high physical and mental concentration.

I've been trying it for a while, with varying levels of success, but differentiation between imagination and actual OBE is difficult.
