Health Issues

Big day today as I will be seeing the Cardio Sugon about the pacemaker. Hopefully I will be able to raise, lower and lift the arms above shoulder height after this meeting.
Hopefully will be back posting very soon

Having been absent for some time, though I have looked in but decided not to contribute until now.
I saw the Cardio Surgeon today and the news while it was good it wasn't what I quite expected.
It is only 3 weeks since the pacemaker was put in, so it is a bit early at this stage.
The Surgeon won't be available for a couple of weeks, hence the early appointment.
Still limited arm use with no lifting above the head out front or sideways.
I have to go back to the hospital on the 28th at pre dawn for a limited stay for the recalciant muscle to be given an electric shock or two or three or more to get it into the correct rhythm
Then back again the next day see the revered Heart Surgeon for the follow up post op appointment.
With a bit of luck I may be able to get behind the steering wheel next week as the 6 weeks of nil driving will be reached.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has posted support to me and my son over the past few weeks.
As there is too much to go back on I will just say from the bottom of my heart, which the Surgeon assures me, is there,
THANKYOU EVERYONE

only one question; did you know beforehand it would be such a saga?

welcome back, btw
Good evening DF.
No the heart surgery was explained in vivid detail. NO to the surgery and I would probably have had a heart attack that would have taken me out.
The Pacemaker came about because my heart refused to cooperate after the surgery and wouldn't pick up the pace to what is deemed normal.
This is the bit that has put me on the back foot so to speak.
No longer can I do any electric welding, or test an electric with a fault finder, but a small price to pay in time and being healthy again.

Having gone through the saga of the completely blocked right artery and the 75% blocked left one (the widow maker) I can empathise with your journey. Good to see you up and about even if temporarily limited. Going by the experience of friends & neighbours who have pacemakers, it does not seem to restrict them at all so you should be back to doing the fencing soon.

Only downer with pacemaker is NO electric welding ever again and NO use of the electric fence fault finder.
Two important tools that I will miss.

A rather busy morning today. Firstly a blood sample and then off the Midland for a chest X-ray. Once again conformation that inside the chest there is a beating heart.
All needed for the next visit to the esteemed heart surgeon on Tuesday, where hopefully the protective strip on the centre of the rib cage ly will be removed. Shouted "She Who is Never Wrong" to a slap-up bit of Chinese nosh at the local food hall.
A few more brownie points.
Told her lunch was because I am loving, caring person. She nearly threw up at that suggestion.
Are well it sounded good, I thought.

You smoothie you, what a charmer, the food hall no less, genuine melamine plates, plastic chairs and a free paper napkin.

You know how to whoo the girls don't you, splash the cash and pour on the charm and ambience of a food hall Chinese eatery.

A man after my own heart.😂

You will have to train up the missus, tell her you will do the washing, if she does the welding and electric fence fault finding. ;)

You don't want to start the negotiations with too high an opening gambit, you have to leave some bargaining chips off the table. 😂

@sptrawler already broached these subjects.
A definite NO to the welding and just a minnow perhaps to electric fence testing though She reckons I am setting her up for an electric shock, which over the years I have had plenty.
