Good morning everyone and welcome to the February 2020 stock tipping competition! :)

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by FP Markets.

FP Markets is an Australian owned and ASIC regulated broker with over 12 years experience and 35 industry awards including Highest Overall Client Satisfaction 5 years running. They facilitate trading in equities, indices, commodities, futures, Forex and Bitcoin via their MetaTrader4 platform.

FP Markets offer 10,000+ equities, indices and commodities across all major international markets. All equity CFDs are DMA priced and 100% hedged. FP Markets are not a market maker so their interests are aligned with that of their clients. You can go long on everything listed on the ASX and international markets and they have the widest short offering of any Australian broker.

This month there were a number of entrants who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @Dona Ferentes, @So_Cynical, @peter2, @Knwee2, and @fergee. I will give these entrants another 48 hours to post in the thread of their competition entry. If they choose to do so then I will add them to the February competition. :)

Please note that you cannot rely on a post from a previous month. The post must be made in the month that you enter the competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

Thank you for your post. You have now been added to the February stock tipping competition.

rules are rules and they must be complied with. :stig:
That sort of mission statement gets you a job with the Australian Taxation Office... :Do_O
@MovingAverage, did you mean to enter Marley Spoon or was there a bit of confusion thinking of 3M ?
(MMM on NYSE is 3M)?
I note 3M makes all sorts of masks and filters, including the P95 masks that are selling like hotcakes at inflated prices due to an apparent flu virus getting around overseas...
Was surprised to see their share price (3M - MMM) not through the roof yet on the NYSE... not far from yearly low?! :2twocents

Hahaha...yes I surprised myself as well by picking MMM for Feb’s comp but I’m afraid it is so, my pick is Marley Spoon.

The problem with rules is that if you don't apply them equally to all, especially when there is no ambiguity, then ultimately they are pointless. A rule has a reason to exist only insofar as it is enforced. Otherwise you might as well have no rules and just have suggestions instead.

And as they take off its the four Fs entering the turn.
What the? Ok, I get it!
The alphabet starts with A though...!
A for @access with a cracker 126.32% rise today on EXR.
Nice pick! Hope you held/ hold?
Love it when members of this community make some magic moula... and tell us about it!;)
@Miner , you got the middle letter wrong...ENR.
You too @Parse ... EGR.
I noticed EXR this morning, didn't know it was in the comp though! Considered an entry, but it had already done it's thing. Moved onto SMP instead...:2twocents
Cheers.

@frugal.rock - Yes the middle letter for ENR became middle finger for me - some X ray film I suppose :)

@access you are making the rest of us look like idiots. :wacky: In my case I can do that perfectly fine without your help. Great pick so far for the month. I hope it stays on course for you!:xyxthumbs

Slow and steady definitely do not win the race alone. Slow, steady, and deliberate wins the race, when punctuated by occasional sprints. It's not enough to make daily, measured progress .. if it's not deliberate progress. If you're not moving in a meaningful direction, then failure is a likely outcome.

(or, if you're standing still, you are probably going backwards)
