The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial issued a gag order on Tuesday after the former president made comments about the judge’s clerk.

“Consider this statement a gag order forbidding all parties from posting, emailing or speaking publicly about any of my staff,” the judge, Arthur Engoron, said on Tuesday afternoon. “Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, inappropriate and I will not tolerate them in any circumstances.

“Failure to abide by this order will result in serious sanctions.”

...Trump’s comments about Engoron’s law clerk, the attorney Allison Greenfield, proved a step too far. Over lunch Trump attacked Engoron’s clerk in a social media post, linking to a picture of her with the Democratic Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer. He called her “Schumer’s girlfriend” and said she “is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately.”

The post on Trump’s Truth Social platform was deleted on Engoron’s orders.

Shame the Judge has already ruled the Statute of Limitations appeal won't stand up because the earlier 2011 statements were reused in 2014 hence restarting the statute of limitations time line.

Why it matters: In part, Trump has attended the trial to address the media during breaks to put forth his interpretation of the case against him. As Engoron’s message at the start of the second day indicates, Trump’s declarations should be taken with a grain of salt.

Referring to the Republicans, she said: "Let them wallow in their pigsty of incompetence."

As expected, the Democrats were united in voting to remove McCarthy. Eight Republicans also supported the motion, resulting in a 216-210 vote to remove the speaker — and forcing McCarthy to announce his own sacking.

Trump, well, according to Elon the most entertaining outcome is the most likely. True that the swamp is out for his blood, but the folks are in no way done with Trump. Current polls show that he would win against Biden.

And it must be remembered that in the last election it was only 42,000 votes in three key states that made the difference, irrespective of whether or not any shenanigans were happening.

Nobody can deny that Trump winning in 2024 would be the most entertaining outcome, and therefore the most likely (if we accept Elon's Maxim).

There is certainly a lot of **** heading towards the fan at the moment and literally anything can happen, I've backed Trump on Betfair at what I consider to be very attractive odds.

Trump had enough reason to believe the votes had been stolen and there was enough collusion between social media companies and legacy media that had swayed the election and protected the democrats.

Something stunk all the way through. Trumps an absolute shtbag. But collusion between justice departments, media and a political party is the worst thing for a democracy.

It's not about Trump. It's the fact any political opponents that are against playing the rules of this corrupt establishment gets loaded up. Trump was the one that had a go at it. It's nothing to do with him as a person.
