He could barely speak when campaigning, and struggled during the debate with the dork Dr OZ.
Then in Feb this year he checked himself into hospital to treat depression and disappeared for nearly two months.
He still conducts interviews with the help of an IPAD that transcribes questions in real time.
Dianne Fenstein is 90, has obvious cognitive issues, and has been shown to be required to vote aye on procedural issues.
Robert Byrd, served in the senate for 51 years, and died in office at 92.
He was absent from senate for the majority of the last year in office.
Nancy Pelosi, McConnels democrat opposite number is 83has had so many facelifts she looks like a permanetly startled owl.
Strom Thurmond had a "colorful" time in office in the senate, and died in office at 100, having spent a good part of the last few years in the senate nodding off to sleep.
