Donald Trump has spent 2.5 years relentlessly repeating his story of a stolen 2020 election. He has gathered an army of people to believe and repeat these allegations . Finally a Court will give him the opportunity to prove the election was stolen and vindicate himself.

Or else the Court will find he and his co defendents guilty of some or all of massive electoral interference, false accusations and spreading lies about fraudulent results.

It's about racketeering and trying dishonest means to influence the election including threatening election staff. Its not about him trying to prove the election was stolen.

3 important factors.

As you say, it is the big stuff, not adult movie stars stuff and illegally holding documents. This is trying to corrupt the election process.This is major.

2.
Unlike the other trials it can be shown on TV. Everyone can see the evidence for themselves.

3.
If Trump and his gang are jailed they cannot be pardoned by a President.

One advantage Trump has is that as a former President he is allowed to have a security detachment at all time so basically he can't go to jail. It would have to be some form of house arrest.
His gang will have no such fallback and must be worried.

If Trump and co conspirators are convicted and jailed they will need to build a new prison specifically for them.
Trump won't be able to be secure in any current prison. There are a number of examples of other countries that have have convicted heads of state for crimine and have constructed special accommodation.

But the US being the US already has its own system of special incarceration for the privileged. These are self pay prisons. Really just glorified holiday camps.

Georgia’s Republican governor, Brian Kemp, insisted on Tuesday that the 2020 presidential election in his state “was not stolen” in an apparent defense of the latest criminal indictment of Donald Trump.
Kemp, who has clashed frequently with the former president over his false claim the election was rigged, responded on Twitter to an earlier post on Truth Social from Trump announcing a press conference next week at which he promised to present “irrefutable” evidence of fraud.

That Perfect phone call alone should be enough for a jury to convict Trump on some of the indictments.
