Yes, they are available. Make sure you are signed up in Account Management>Trading Permissions....
I'm just starting to have a look at the IB sim now but i've got a chart up of the SPI, and i cannot change to 5 minute intervals, is this normal anyone?
Also Prof, if you there, do you Amibroker live? If so where do you get your data from?

IB has 3 servers- Asian, European and American. Most people that operate out of Asia would be on the Hong Kong server,which resets at around 5-6am.
I'm pretty sure you can have that fixed by calling the CS desk so they can switch you over to the HK server.
No, I am using Webtrader and there is only one server. I can't use TWS due to proxys. So there is nothing I can do about the reset according to CS people.

Why does the ASX data from IB not include all the index data that ASX have. You have only what looks like the asx200. I have to buy live data from somewhere else just for the Indices. Really annoying since IB has included index data from other exchanges. It seems silly to have to pay IB for ASX data that is only partly what the exchange provide.
If it's part of the ASX feed then probably the only reason we don't have it is because it's not in the symbol databases that we pull from the exchange. It's possible they have a seperate index database (although I couldn't find one).
Send a ticket from account management with subject "new symbol", and request that we add it. Please put in as much information as possible, e.g. Symbol, Index Name, Any ISIN code or similar, Weblink, etc.

My account permission came through this evening and I have just started to have a good look at TWS. Can anyone tell me why I wouldn't be recieving data from SYCOM for APU7 on TWS but no problems on webtrader.
I have opened up lines for all the US majors and some FX pairs and all works well with them, just no SPI...

I have SPI as the underlying and it flowed throught to the relevant contracts. I don't get any error messages telling me that I am not subscribed to that market, just blank fields.
I've just finished setting up pages for FX , commodities, metals, energy and US indices all with ease, just no SPI...

Not that I'm an any expert at this - still no Aussie options for me even though I have the permissions OK and an email confirming the upgrade had been approved. I sent a ticket to CS this morning and still no reply. Oh well, will see what tomorrow brings
Finally got an email reply to the ticket inquiry this morning where it appears they couldn't find a problem with it. But whether something was fixed or it was just part of a slow due process, I'll probably never know, but Aussie options are now working on my TWSS...still no Aussie options for me even though I have the permissions OK and an email confirming the upgrade had been approved. Seaking, if the SPI is still not working for you, perhaps try sending an inquiry ticket. Just don't expect a quick reply!
