Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

August 2019 Stock Competition Entries!

Might be another Fine Cotton affair. GG has actually replaced CHK with another small cap that is performing better and the ASX is in on it too.

Comrade, in reality I'm barracking for you to win.

Such a magnificent race, from out of the blocks.

It's been quite an exciting Competition.

CHK has so much juice on board coming up to the final turn I can only describe him/her from a little known song.

The end of another week in the monthly competition and still a full week left.
I've being waiting for investing.com to adjust @myrtie100 price (nice charts above :xyxthumbs) as it finished at the same price as yesterday's close but they have it displayed as an up day which didn't happen. Can't wait any longer.
Actually the top 7 spots from yesterday went sideways or down today to @Garpal Gumnut delight.
A great day for GG today and a pretty good effort for the month as CHK was sitting last after 3 days (marked on chart). Bit of a hurdler I think the way he jumped over 3 competitors.

GG I am going to ask for a stewards inquiry, you have obviously 'juiced' the nag.:p

It is no different than agreeing to a request from a good looking young lady to get her an extra large glass of champagne at Flemington and drive her home.

The ends do justify the means.

Good luck to all next week. It's a very exciting comp.

As we are around the final bend and into the straight, @explod is using the whip and looks good. @greggles is comfortable on the rails, @myrtie100 is not far behind. @Pollocks is a bit further behind throwing up mud into @sptrawler and myself. @Parse, @noirua, @Miner and @trav are just entering the straight and look ready for the knackers' yard, all four of them.

However the race is not won until the closing bell at 1600 on Friday 30th August.

The gate didn't open at the jump. The SRG dark horse (when no stewards are looking) is gonna cop a big jab of Elephant Juice by jockey CEO at the AGM stakes. And then watch it run like a cheetah with 6 crackers at the base of its tail.
Or its Pal next week.
OK just looked in the starting gate and SRG has turned (or swapped out) to a lame duck! The horse has thrown the jock and bolted and last seen galloping for the exit of the AGM barn.
Good luck to all other punters. ;)

Unless there is a minor miracle in the last 250m. of this race the result looks to be
IVR
ADN
SVL

However it's never over 'til the fat lady sings.

It would be mean spirited not to congratulate explod, greggles and myrtie100 on their good picks.

explod greggles myrtie100 Pollocks sptrawler Miner

It would appear that Miner has nudged ahead of me on the outside. Greggles is using the whip, never a good sign towards the end of the back straight.

CHK has had no whip. Is comfortably in seventh place and looking forward to the next two turns and the run in to victory.

Don't give up GG. You still have 3 days - who knows. Best of luck

@explod will take out this month's competition as a result of IVR's trading halt announced today. Trading will recommence on Monday when they will announce details of a capital raising that will almost certainly send the SP lower.

I'm not so sure, even though I'd like to see @explod win after such a sterling gallop.

@Joe Blow may be involved in a Steward's Inquiry on this one.

Is a nag "what is stopped", though about to start next month, a live nag or a stopped nag, within this month, if said nag cannot be neither bought nor sold tomorrow, which is the last day of this month's Competition.

It lives in September. It stopped running today, in August, when ahead.

Is it still ahead?

More angels on pins.

It's a bit like the Norwegian Blue in the "Dead Parrot Sketch"

Ole Nick Kyrgios would be breaking a few racquets over some heads if he were here.

That's an instant disqualification surely? The nag didn't even make it to the finish line.

Well I've been duded anyway, with price of silver still skyrocketing was expecting a very big jump today and accolades Friday.

So stripped bare will withdraw into the cave.

No mate. Wait for @Joe Blow to adjudicate re comp.

As for Silver, we can't give ours away to the Gumnut brood.

We are in unknown territory, I believe.

There's never been a rule that a company placed into a trading halt during the course of a competition is disqualified. In fact, if memory serves this has happened before although I can't say exactly when.

The only rule is that you cannot select a stock for the competition that is currently in a trading halt.

Nobody can predict trading halts, so it seems fair to me that the price at the time of the trading halt will remain the finishing price if the trading halt extends beyond the end of the month.

Unfortunately for @greggles (and perhaps others), @explod remains the leader of the competition heading into the final day.
