I would also like to say that I think the mods on this site do a great job and I thank them for the time that they selflessly give.

I started a thread called "net neutrality" which argued against censorship on the net - didnt get a single comment lol. NOW there are two options :-
1. one of the moderators could be kind enough to censor it. Put it out of its misery
Find some excuse about the capacity of the memory banks. Like whenever I try to send a picture of my mother-in-law to people, I have to warn them to have at least 2GB of RAM
2. leave it there for a while, because it 1) is about censoring anti-censorship.
PS. I for one like the freedom to call a spade a bludy shovel.
Just have to be careful when a debate boils over to the masses, as the actress said to the mufti
On the subject of the need to use less blatant insults - I remember a quote attributed to Menzies at a politcal rally - someone shouted "what about the workers" just as he was about to make a point about foreign policy - so he countered " mmm I see I should have spent more on education" - not trying to be a snob here, (I'm a worker lol) - just making the point that you dont have to resort to blatant insults.
PS Barney - where are you when we need some bludy lyrics - you idiXX you lazy muso you.

Personally I am for censorship.
I wouldn’t like weirdos taking over this site, just because they exercise their right of free speech.
Right is good to be used not good to be abused.
Determining fine line is often difficult to judge precisely, but as in a war or accident, sometimes innocent bystanders are affected.
In a sense we all are somewhat selective.
We don’t deliberately send kids to school with the worst opinion, most don’t actively seek companion of crooks, criminals, we select our friends.
This is our little community and we should like to be here and we should guard it from undesirables.
There are plenty of sites where idiots rule, so they all can go there and feel like pigs in mud, good luck.

oopsum aut postum poetrium aut songum lyricum..

2. Here's one for the punters around here as well :-

3. And another for the punters:-
Adde parvum parvo magnus acervus erit.
Translation: "Add little to little and there will be a big pile"
(adding pavlovas on pavlovas makes a serious mess.?)
4. PS Next time anyone wants to have a go at someone else, I suggest you try it in Latin.. - hell if you can't find it in the latin quote dictionary, then make it up

Abusus non tollit usum (?)
Translation: ? which is the correct answer :- multiple choice:-
a) "use the toilet, don't abuse it" - sign found on wall of toilet in Pompeii
b) "using an abacus is not as good as using a till" - quote found on wall of chinese restaurant whilst Julius Caesar was travelling on Xmas holidays
c) "Abuse is no argument against proper use", legal phrase meaning that just because something can be abused there is no reason for putting an end to its legitimate use
I would hasten to add that recent events would not constitute abuse in my humble opinion, just "dedicatum postum outpourum” . (which is obviously one I made up , means "the dedicated outpourings of posters".)
