Alone Today?

They're actually real people, Grace.
Hope you're not seeking a career in the diplomatic service.

So so so sorry! I guess I used the wrong words completely. I wanted to more express that there will become a time in my life I'm sure when I will be lonely too. Life moves in cycles and my time will come too I'm sure.

By the way, my imaginary friends here I have become quite thankful for, because they have given me more insight into the financial world than I could have read in any book, extracted from a financial planner and so on.

So I am very thankful to the people on this sight, and if you are lonely this Christmas, I am thinking of you.

Quite a few lonely people on this thread. But they're not completely alone - they're all on the same thread after all. No doubt there's plenty more who haven't posted.

So how about some sort of ASF Christmas gathering / lunch next year? Depending on numbers and location, could be one in each capital city or if the numbers are smaller then just meet up in the one city.

No doubt quite a few locals who are on this forum but aren't alone would drop in too for a while so in theory at least it could work quite well.

Just a thought. :)

Have to go back through all my posts to see who I've insulted first !

I think we are big enough to let those things go Mr Burns.

Smurf excellent idea! Could be alot of fun.

In the past in Sydney the kids and I would go to the beach and we would play beach volley ball with complete strangers and have so much fun.

Can't say I was alone! My four kids ran in at 5am and jumped on me and hubby and announced that "Santa has been here!". The day just got better and better as we met up with more and more relatives.

Our church service was outside last night, followed by our local Christmas Eve fireworks. Just a fantastic night too!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I have enjoyed being a member of this site ever since I have joined, and thoroughly enjoy my imaginary friends here!

Don't apologise Grace,

It brought me back to when my kids were that age.

We are lucky in that we have at one fence, neighbours with young kids.

We were woken at 4.30 by a huge racket, laughs and oohs and aahs,

Screams and the occasional whinge.

It went on for over 2 hours.

Delightful.

Our adult kids slowly woke through the day, 2 actually went to church !!

Life is good, it moves on, its all ahead of you Grace.

Two lovely posts.

Hi everyone,

I am 2 years new to OZ land (here since Feb 2007), Perth to be specific. I am alone this afternoon with my 2 wonderful kids, since my wife is working today on BOXING day in the hospital.

But it feels good to be home ALONE with kids:

a) On Xmas eve, I invited some Chinese friends who are on 457 Visa to my home for a meal. We then attend a Xmas Eve service in a church with 38 Nationalities for a 1 hour service, followed by light supper.

b) On Xmas day, we invited a lonely couple who've just migrated to Perth to enjoy some leftover food with us. And then we ended the evening by helping a friend who have gone on holidays to water their garden.

c) Today, BOXING Day, we woke up. Some of you would consider me a religious nut but I am not ashamed of it: I woke up, thought of 20 of the most inspiring Bible verses and high light them on a Bi lingual Bible (Chinese-English) and presented them to a Chinese Asian friend who attended church with us. He is very excited to attend a multi-cultural church although his English skills is limited!

Tomorrow, we shall aspire to be Shopping Nazis , prowling the malls with our wallet in search of anything that's a genuine bargain! (Specifically, I aim for a cool faded pair of new blue jeans with a white casual shirt as I aim to recreate that cool Aussie look when you are dining in Restaurants in the evening, complete with a pair of crocodile skin white half inch heel shoes!!!!):). He he he!!!!!

So, to all my REAL ASF friends out there - belated Xmas & Happy Shopping!

Cheers................
