Where do you live?

I hate rain, unless it is an overnight storm and I'm snuggled up in bed. There's something special about listening to rain at night. There's nothing special about heavy rain during a public holiday at the very end of summer.

The next time I go to the beach could be November.

Down in Victoria, new arrival here thou from Queensland

You're right there is something special about the rain at Night! Thats what I love about Qld Summers is the warm balmy days and the rain in the Evenings!

Weather in Brisbane today is sensational.

Sunny again in Melb - to be honest I'd rather a good day or two of rain for the gardens.

Realist,

Send some of your rain over here....

wabbit

Perth.

Nice and sunny up here in Darwin, just come back from wakeboarding, perfect weather for it too.

It might be a bit inconvenient for you, Realist, but think of all the dams we desperately need to fill.

I'd happily swap with you. Hervey Bay, Queensland, where there's the odd brief shower today, but bright and sunny before that. We've just gone on to Level 3 water restrictions and a few days of solid rain would be so welcome.

In NSW it rains in Sydney quite a bit, it rarely rains in the catchment areas though supposedly.

I suspect I am getting drenched today and it aint helping our dams at all.

I'd like to know where the catchment areas are exactly - so I can take my summer holidays there...

Warm balmy days and evening rain? In some places, maybe, but most of QLD over the last several years has been as hot as hell and dry as blazes. Many QLD centres are in dire straits regarding water. Not many Queenslanders would do a Realist and complain about rain.....we'd welcome weeks of the stuff up here.

However, if your main priority is fine weather for outdoor activities over Easter, then our current weather pattern in most places in QLD would fit the bill admirably.

Rain? As in water falling from the sky with no sprinkler or hoses required?

That's the very same thing we're trying to make happen down here in Tas with cloud seeding. So if Sydney's got a bit too much then feel free to send as much as you like down here, ideally straight into Great Lake or any of the other storages that have had only 14% of normal inflows over the past 12 months.

Or for that matter you could just dump it straight on my garden since otherwise I'm putting the sprinkler on tonight.

It's fine and sunny again down here though not particularly warm (14 degrees at the moment). I just went for a 2 hour walk in the bush and all the creeks have dried up and the ground is turning to dust (literally).

With the forecast being fine, fine and fine again the Autumn "rain hole" seems unfortunately alive and well this year once again - a consistent pattern throughout this decade long drought. Looks like it's not over yet...

well I guess we can all take comfort in the fact that a bit of rain might not be perfect, but it beats hanging around on a Cross over Easter.

as incidentally they still do in the provinces of Philippines - complete with blaring out hymns at 800 dB all night and all day - sheesh .

still they'll probably go to Heaven and I won't - magnificent race, albeit a bit superstitious, but they deserve it more than I do anyways.

lol - we had a yacht , needed some mechanical repairs in Cebu, - local Philippino we befriended (who incidentally was an orthopaedic surgeon - not your average mug) - suggested we try some chicken blood - had to be Leghorn etc - skipper said "why not?" I said " c'mon, lol , you're jokin"
next day all these blood smudges around the place - on the helm, on the compass lol . PS the mechanical problems continued lol.

Amazing day in Melbs. Blue skies, not a cloud. I've been sitting on the balcony with a vino for the past hour watching at the city skyline and the sun just descending in the west over Carlton Gardens. Cheers.

I see on the news the "Human Cannon Ball" lady (at the Easter Show) -
the old joke about being fired every day

and the old one about the cannon ball bloke who is sacked,
- then reinstated - and his boss says "with a pay rise!"
"why??" he says
"Because men of your calibre are proving hard to find"

Looks like some of your rain has headed this way Realist.........sure hope it stops by tomorrow so I can be dry at the Bluesfest.
