What makes you hit buy?

One thing i look for as a value investor is a chart similar to the one below...ive had 100% success over the last 10 months buying stocks with a down trending Share price...the stock below i brought into last week after watching since January.

Hope it goes without saying that i know the stock reasonably well and have some degree of confidence.

Regardless of how the stock is analysed.
This is what I look for before "Hitting the BUY Button"

Anticipation of----Low Risk High Reward

Exactly, this system has a positive expectancy (+EV), so over a large enough volume or sample size this system will keep u ahead.

ROE,

to find intrinsic value of your Company, are you comparing current EPS and dividing it by your selected govt bond interest rate. Either 5/10 years?

Long-term Core Stocks 80%

1) Dividend Stability ratio (because I use a geared strategy and I need to preserve the income streams to positively gear the portfolio).
2) ASX100 Stock
3) Fundamental analysis
4) Technical Analysis
5) Weighted to an adjusted ASX200 index

I listen to recommendations from this forum!!!

Yes, all jokes aside sometimes you do get a few worthwhile pointers and of course it is still a matter of DYOR but it saves a lot of time if someone is willing or kind enough to point you in the general direction to look.

all very valid posts, guess i would like to think i use a mixture of all
those mentioned. anything to avoid that dreaded buyers remource lol
