VBA (Virgin Blue) market value is around $0.27 the last few days. I log onto my trading account to see what is happening this morning and I found that they buy/sell order values are very strange (to me at least):

Buyers
Level Orders # Quantity Price
1 4 1,672,211 $0.385

2 1 97,000 $0.380

3 2 598,960 $0.360

4 6 616,452 $0.330

5 1 4,738 $0.320

6 1 205,031 $0.310

7 3 1,470,023 $0.300

8 3 297,616 $0.295

9 2 42,915 $0.290

10 1 18,000 $0.280

330 buyers for 13,626,903 shares Sellers

Level Orders # Quantity Price
1 5 116,972 $0.010

2 2 26,332 $0.070

3 1 1,252,612 $0.085

4 2 4,700 $0.160

5 1 2,343,054 $0.165

6 1 379,183 $0.180

7 1 2,900 $0.200

8 1 43,635 $0.230

9 1 571,983 $0.240

10 1 2,030 $0.250

323 sellers with 13,585,050 shares

Now how could people put in buy orders for VBA at $0.010? Or sell orders at $0.385 when the stock has been ~$0.27 for the last week and expect them to be executed.

Is this a way to manipulate prices? If anyone could give me an expelanation it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Ok I now see that it is actually the other way around and people are selling at very low and buying at very high which makes even less sense to me.

There was a reason that I put this in the begginers section. I am a begginer and this doesnt make sense to me so could someone please answer my question rather than just laugh at the stupidity of it...

Sorry TD.

You would have noticed the same thing with quite a few stocks this morning.

Options expiry.
