WDS - Woodside Energy Group

WDS up modestly today against a generally down day.

Today's 0.08 gain today not shown on this weekly chart but what we might be seeing is a small scale triple low with some positive momentum divergence. That is: possibly a base?

I'm looking again at this in the light of a Jesse Felder video that I shall be posting over on my newly minted ASX 200 thread, lol.

Most disappointing Stock for me in my portfolio (Excluding Dividends). Sorry double checking.... CVN is.

While I was correct in rising tensions in the Middle East, I was totally wrong in my estimation of the effect on WDS.
Will still hold. No point in getting out now and don't need the money for anything else yet.

am likely to retain the current holding , ( which is mostly from the BHP deal ) but ironically ( or delightfully ) with the ticker code change/restructure they evicted me from my DRP participation

i won't go as far as to say i will never add more , but are going to have to lift their game ( of lower the SP a fair bit ) before i reconsider

so yes i am doing OK here , but mostly because of the BHP deal , rather than stellar management

WOODSIDE SIMPLIFIES PORTFOLIO AND UNLOCKS LONG-TERM VALUE

Woodside and Chevron have agreed to an asset swap under which Woodside will acquire Chevron’s interest in the North West Shelf Project, the NWS Oil Project and the Angel Carbon Capture and Storage Project, and transfer all of its interest in both the Wheatstone and Julimar-Brunello Projects to Chevron. Chevron will also make a cash payment to Woodside of up to $400 million.

The transaction highlights include:
• Streamlines Australian portfolio and consolidates focus on operated LNG assets;
• Simplifies NWS joint venture ownership, unlocking economic recovery of existing production and future development opportunities; and
• Strengthens near-term cash flow to support shareholder distributions and ongoing investments.

$23.55

Unsure buying in Africa.. eg WAF n DEG...I go for DEG....It's only moi... fixation of political matters worrying me.
Many a multinational has been burnt by the lure of Africa.

The problem is once the local Indigenous feel like they've jaded, they take matters into their own hands.

They know they're getting stitched, they have poor living conditions while large companies and corrupt govts take all the profits.

Woodside will pick up maybe $ 400 Million cash from Chevron in this asset swap .

yes that worried me , even more concerning was the hint about returning the cash to shareholders ( that hints a buy-buck or special div. in order to prop up the share price ( the hint AND the other bit .

Chevron isn't usually keen to fling money around ( so they must think they got a bargain )
