Pretty much spot on.

What’s clearly happening now, though, is an attempt to de-legitimise the result by claiming that it was due to “misinformation” and what’s clearly evident is the government’s inclination to carry on as if the vote had never happened. The reaction of some businesses to the vote was to offer their staff stress leave and to insist they’d been right actively to support the Yes campaign even though it was way beyond their normal remit and must have been at odds with the position of many of their employees and customers.

A watershed moment in the campaign was Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price’s insistence at the National Press Club that colonisation had actually been good for Aboriginal people because it had brought the rule of law and technological advance. And her further response to an obviously taken-aback, overwhelmingly politically correct audience that her convict ancestors had suffered scarcely less than her Indigenous ones.

Had I been one of the many Oz citizens who can trace their ancestory back to convicts who were transported here for real or imagined crimes, I would have thought that one might argue that their presence here was not part of colonisation , as they were forcibly dumped here.

Seriously...

What?
The?
F---?

If that is true, it is pretty insulting of people who do suffer from stress and can't get help and also of the majority of Queenslanders that voted NO.
Now they have to pay taxes to give the minority a weeks holiday, actually that sounds true to form, the Queensland Govt loves giving away taxpayers money.
Australia we're standing in it.

They do F----all anyway, this is proof that they're not even needed most of the time. Just imagine any normal run private company telling workers on short notice that they can have a week off.
Agree with the sentiment but having worked in the PS in the past, albeit not in Qld but presumably it's much the same, be careful about tarring everyone with the same brush.

There are some slackers yes but there are others who work hard to do their best under what are often difficult circumstances with bureaucracy and so on.

Problems in the PS are 99% from the top in my experience. The workers themselves often disagree strongly with what comes from politicians - very strongly at times.

There'll be some workers happy with a week off but there'll be others furious about the whole thing.

I came across this story on the Kangaroo Court of Australia website. I think it is very disturbing .The suggestion of massive unstated conflicts of interest and questions about the financial and staffing processes at the Yipirinya school needs to be investigated.

Excellent place to start auditing.

Peter Dutton, Jacinta Price and her mother Bess Price exposed conspiring to loot $million from Indigenous funding via a school grant

By Shane Dowling on October 22, 2023 • ( 11 Comments )

Opposition leader Peter Dutton is heading up a conspiracy trying to pour $12 million of Indigenous funding into a school that is being used as a slush fund / fraud scam where the mother of Shadow Minister for Indigenous Affairs Jacinta Price, Bess Price, works.

There are already outstanding allegations of fraud at the school which I will outline below, but firstly the background to $12 million scam for the school boarding house project.

Senator Jacinta Price is pushing for the project with the support of Shadow Education Minister Sarah Henderson and others. But as you will see in the below video Jacinta’s mother Bess Price is a major driver for the grant and works at the school. It is a conflict of interest that should be declared by everyone pushing for the $12 million grant, but no one is doing it.

National Party leader David Littleproud is in on the scam and even used parliament question time to put pressure on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to hand over $12 million to the Yipirinya Independent Aboriginal School in Alice Springs and failed to declare the blatant conflict of interest.

The Bess Price conflict is nothing more than the tip of the iceberg of the fraud scam as you will see below.
