The United States of America

I have been lucky enough to have been influenced in world affairs and politics since I was about 8 years old, and one thing I have learned is to never believe the doomsayers.

History is an important source of information, and I believe so is science fiction. Read the Isaac Asimov books Foundation.

Change is constant.

The following article is interesting.
Great article. Nice to see Obama shown as the fkup he was. Guy was a disaster for the world.

Apparently the latest photo from Mar a Lago

At least this bloke might actually know the names of his advisors. Lol
Which would be a nice change IMO.
For starters I wonder what Trump feels about the fact that 50% of Teslas are built in China rather that Good ole US of A and I wonder what Musk thinks of Trumps tariff plans on Chinese made goods.

Meanwhile business continues...

And the cartoonist who produced this resigned in protest because it wasn't officially run. Apparently Bezos (the owner) wasn't amused
Yep. A New World Order.

In the US there were two periods that the US government was dominated / run by wealthy people (oligarchs) in the 1860's and 1930's both times it ended in disaster and were rejected comprehensively, seems history repeating or rhyming again.

If Trump nabs Greenland from the Danes he can spout "You'll own nothing and be happy" back to Ida Auken. It will be a meme that's gone full circle

How many of those teslas made in China end up in the United states? The answer is pretty much zero

Chinese made Teslas are for the export market...they're not for the United states. So why would Trump care? All teslas sold in the United states are made in the United states. Probably the only company that can make that claim.
@SirRumpole wouldn't you love to a fly on the wall. Would it go something like: The Trumpet "yes will", Elon Musk "no I won't"
Trump "I'm sick of you importing Teslas from China"
Elon "I don't, those are all for the foreign market"
Trump "oh ok then"
Elon "that iPhone you're using was imported from China"

So Trump wouldn't be interested in foreign revenue flowing in to support industries in the US?

You had no idea those Chinese made teslas were not making their way to the United states don't change your arguement now.
The original statement was "half of Teslas made are made in China".

I said nothing about them not getting to the US.

Kindly don't misquote me.

"Ok here's the deal guys. I'll take Greenland. Maybe Canada as they really should be a US state, Putin, you can have Estonia, Latvia and the part of Ukraine you have conquered, Xi , feel free to take Taiwan and control the seas around those SE Asian countries. There's plenty to go around, just want you guys to support me in this. Time to end the Eisenhower new world order stuff"

Begun, the MAGA Wars Have

It’s Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer vs. Elon Musk and David Sacks. Who you got?

Over the weekend Steve Bannon unleashed on Elon Musk:
“I will have Elon Musk run out of here by Inauguration Day,” Bannon told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera this week. “He will not have a blue pass to the White House, he will not have full access to the White House, he will be like any other person.”
“He is a truly evil guy, a very bad guy. I made it my personal thing to take this guy down,” Bannon added.

That was Bannon’s marker. His actual critique of Musk? Buckle up, Francis.
“This thing of the H-1B visas, it’s about the entire immigration system is gamed by the tech overlords, they use it to their advantage, the people are furious,” Bannon said, noting that “76 percent of engineers working in Silicon Valley are non-Americans.”

“No blacks or Hispanics have any of these jobs or any access to these jobs,” Bannon said.

“Peter Thiel, David [Sacks], Elon Musk, are all white South Africans,” Bannon observed. “He should go back to South Africa. Why do we have South Africans, the most racist people on earth, white South Africans, we have them making any comments at all on what goes on in the United States?” . . .

Bannon went on to accuse Musk of being self-serving, insisting that his “sole objective is to become a trillionaire.”

“He will do anything to make sure that any one of his companies is protected or has a better deal or he makes more money. His aggregation of wealth, and then—through wealth—power: that’s what he’s focused on,” Bannon said.

Bannon went on to describe Musk’s preferred objective as “techno-feudalism.”
Some observations:
  • Not every particular in Bannon’s brief is true.¹ Peter Thiel was born in Germany and grew up in Cleveland.
  • But directionally, Bannon’s charges are right. Musk’s goals are highly correlated to his chip stack.²
  • There’s nothing in Bannon’s critique of Musk that any Democrat, or liberal, or neocon, or normie Republican would disagree with. I mean, I could have written that passage.
