The lunatic left

Whoda thunk that The Bard was in alt-right Nazi?

Labor has gone all in on nuclear powered submarines. They're the best thing since sliced bread. They have quite powerful nuclear reactors inside them. You could line them up at Stirling Naval Base put a power cord into the grid and light up Perth.

But, nuclear power on the land? ? :rolleyes:o_O

2+2 = ?

Yes, we should get more people educated in nuclear power even if we don't adopt it.

Better to have a capability and not use it than need it and not have it.

With lots of uranium all of it exported, it seems a dumbing down of our workforce not to have some capability for enrichment.

Or are we as a nation not mature enough for that ?

I think the Green-Left uniformly think nuclear=dangerous=explosion=bomb.

I've had some conversations with those types who quote Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, Fukushima, Hiroshima as reasons why we shouldn't have it because it's dangerous. Discounting the bomb, how many people actually died in those nuclear accidents? More people die falling off the couch each night.

#BlackoutBowen quotes the cost, but they've just committed $380b for 8 boats that might be delivered in 2 decades. I'm obviously all for the subs, but geesh.

Something's not adding up.

The "average" Australian cannot spell nor count.

Nuclear power may be a stretch.

Marx and Lenin never trusted the workers nor peasants to make the correct decision.

They need to be led.

I'll simply say that if we can afford nuclear power then we can afford to hit business up for a lot of money in general.

That's who'll be paying most of it, business, and nuclear's a damn expensive way to turn an alternator. Hence why it's primarily built in places that are either at least somewhat socialist, are doing it as part of a military program or which have no good alternatives.

If the level of government control and central planning required for a nuclear industry were available to any form of power generation then nobody would be arguing for nuclear in Australia. That is, the pro-nuclear argument is essentially an argument for central planning of electricity supply far more than it's an argument for an actual nuclear power station. Apply the same level of central planning to other technologies and our energy problems aren't hard to fix.

Quite a few specific sites have in the past been identified for nuclear power stations though. None built, though one did commence early works.

I'm all for education, there's no inherent reason people need to be so frightened the moment they hear the word "nuclear". But then I'd like to see the public better educated about wind, solar, hydro, transmission and fossil fuels as well. :2twocents

Indeed yes. The incompetence of our politicians over the last ten years at least doesn't give much confidence that they could manage a nuclear industry.

It's possible that a cheaper and less dangerous form of the type could come along sometime and it would be useful to have the personnel to manage it.

Mrs O'Shea always told us to stay in the Centre in Grade 1 as we negotiated a pedestrian crossing.

Good advice.

A Pox on the Right and Left.

Far Left trans activists tried to halt the Women's movement protest today in Canberra. Even The Australian is calling it an 'anti-trans' rally, where their focus is actually on 'women's rights'. A couple of very prominent women's supporters decided not to turn up for fear of their safety. I'm not sure how the MSM is conflating the idea that this movement, which is generally concerned about men playing women's sport, think it's just hate against trans people. It's not at all. They claim people can be trans, just don't destroy biological women's rights. The morons from the far-Right and far-Left who have hijacked this issue have destroyed any ability to have a reasonable discussion about real issues. Today, it was the lunatic Left's turn to put on a show led by the biggest lunatic going.

I've no idea whatever what the pro or anti trans rights people want.

It's only stirred up by media attention, if there were no cameras at these events I doubt most people would bother going.

Certainly the general public don't give a rats except for the fact that the 'protestors' take oxygen out of real issues.

Yeah many don't give a rat's but sooner or later this issue will be up front and centre with almost everyone.

I have been faced with this issue a couple of times in my day to day work. While I have been able to successfully circumnavigate any confrontation and maintain my own dignity by some deft linguistic kung fu (which I don't feel I should have to do), my wife has been faced with the reality of having a biological man somewhere which should be a sacrosanct woman space, ie, a public woman's toilet.

Additionally we attended a local choir where the pianist was a trans "woman". It was no problem, the person did <> work well and everyone was pretty accepting...

...untli <> decided to shove it down the audience's throat. I can tell you it ruined the whole experience of the whole recital and the vast majority of the audience was angry.

One of the chorists is a good mate of mine said they felt they had no choice other than to allow it, for fear of being called a bigot.

Curiously none of the other chorists felt the need to detail their gynaecological or urological issues to an audience of mostly old farts.

Yeah that's the real problem. Same with making a fuss over an indigenous person who managed to do something special.

We should only care about what people do not what they choose to call themselves.

A victory for those ‘anti trans’ women’s rights protestors. Watch the Left go nuts.

Everyone is for it. Left and right.
All the athletes are for it. AFL settled this a while ago as did swimming and most sports. Athletics is lagging. No one wants to see women's sport destroyed.

It's honestly a fringe issue.

What is interesting is that Athletics has also tightened the blood chemistry tests so natural women with even slightly higher hormones will be banned. Good to see.

It actually wasn't a fringe issue, it is a vote for common sense over left wing lunacy, it is easier to say it was a fringe issue .
If it was a fringe issue the chief minister of Scotland, who had been in the position for eight years wouldn't have had to stand down. it was left wing lunacy of the highest order.
The transgender issue was undermining women's rights, to be accepted and respected, as being different to men.

I reckon if you asked the average person in the street, they wouldn't give a flying fck. It's only news junkies that care and really it's only a few of us.
I don't care and I have a trans friend and it definitely wouldn't influence my vote.

It's just a media created distraction.
Helps herd the sheep into their pens.

And it's not like most trans want to be in the Olympics, many agree they don't qualify. They are just a weak and easy target to be used by forces trying to create loyalty to their group or media.

Yeah, its so fringe there's rainbow flags and trans slogans plastered all over every room in our local >>>**kindergarten**<<<.

Sorry bro, it is in everyones face, especially the young and impressionable. Its not a distraction, it's an agenda.

But you can see by the laughter some care immensely.
My wife isnt politically active in any shape or form, but she is really interested in sport, she was fuming about the issue and she doesnt get agitated by much at all.
So if she upset by something trust me, it is an important issue. Lol
