The Conspiracy Theory thread

Did you know ?

Apparently 33% of people between 18-24 in the US believe The Earth is Flat.
How is that ?

Why do some people believe the Earth is flat?

Although scientific evidence says the Earth is a sphere orbiting the Sun, there are some people around who still think our planet is flat... and social media plays a role

By Anders Furze, University of Melbourne

If you type ‘flat Earth’ into Google, you’d be joining a group of people that have helped to triple the search term over the last couple of years. In fact, a recent YouGov poll found that only around two-thirds of Americans aged between 18 and 24 believe that the Earth is round.
Although the idea the Earth is flat has been scientifically discredited, there seems to be a growing belief in the conspiracy theory

there has always been a conspiracy theory going around about how authorities plant Nazis in what they call right winfgextremist groups,
It was suggested that this is exctly what happened in Melbourne some months ago when moira deeming got caught up in the Nazi salute scandal.
A couple of days ago, a Video appeared on Twitter which was supposedly a group of the proud boys and their flags, pushing and shoving against a group of "Nazis" all dressed the same. As the proud boys got more agressive towards them , shouts of unmask them can be heard.
Some of the maks were removed, and ythe Zazis did their best to hide their faces from the cameras filming.

Now its seems, one of the "nazis" has been unmasked figuratively and literally , and it seems he works for the government.
So given the person turned up at a far right wing rally to join in, how long will he keep that Government Job?
Plus I wonder how long it will take until software matching will identify some of the others who were unmasked.

Australia-wide digital IDs could be coming soon

Aussies could be using a national digital ID within the next 12 months where licences, Medicare cards and other forms can be verified online by external organisations.
Finance Minister Katy Gallagher took on the digital ID plan from the former Morrison government which would allow Australians to pop together their ID forms - including but not limited to driver's licences, Medicare cards or proof of age cards - into a platform to be used by external organisations to verify a person's identity.
She told the Australian Financial Review's Government Services Summit that the program will be up and running by mid-next year.

Digital IDs are practically here and it's not the Government, it's private enterprise, big tech, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Visa, Mastercard, the banking system. They need it for business and to prevent fraud.

They are using biometric data, fingerprints, iris scans and tracking of your transactions.

Government will tap into it for the same reason but they aren't leading this.

The Dutch commentator article is conflation. Irrelevant.

Yes, it's what you call economic fascism.

It will lead to actual fascism if we are not careful especially in nation states with poor quality democracies.
I think many would be shocked as to how far along even the so-called strong democracies are.

Of course it won't take the same shape as central Europe of last century, which is resulting in the folly of focusing on "white supremacy" in today's era.

It is taking for shape of the supremacy of postmodern Theory and all of its purulent transmogrifications... DIE, ESG, and the litany of other absurdities that plauge modern life.

Just looked at current legislation in Australia, colloquially known as the "ministry of truth". The US has its own version on the cards and the UK has already implemented it surreptitiously via various statutes.

The most disappointing and alarming thing to me, is that if most people aren't oblivious to it, they are actually cheering it on.

Its the USA that scares me.

Yes, especially considering from the basis of their constitution.

In the US is not a question of who is the president. The president has much less power, in practise, than imagined.

Trump, Biden, whoever, is all window dressing and just there to indulge the tribalism of we plebeians. I have an inkling that even an incoming president may not realise this.

It's all God bless America and Star Spangled Banner until they are quietly taking aside.

Maybe that's a conspiracy theory, but bucking the system has consistently shown to be bad Juju for the offending incumbent.

Horace, do you really think they have given **Biden** unfettered access to the red button?
I really don't know. I would say a reasonable President would seek advice before pressing the button, but circumstances might dictate that an immediate response is required.

Anyway, the issue is about the powers of the office, not the personality of the incumbent.

This isn't about personality it's about competence. Joe can scarcely piece together a sentence in the English language, even in those times when he is actually awake, never mind remember the nuclear codes.... And you really think that they really allowed Trump a unilateral decision to lunch 20000 nuclear weapons?

What might be so in theory I very much doubt is true in practise

The public don't know what really happens with the nuclear codes because you don't want the enemy knowing, but you can guess that if missiles are detected heading towards Washington then the Pres would only have a few minutes to respond, and he is the one who the power is vested in.

The president, especially this president, would have very little idea of the strategic implications of what is happening or what he is about to do.

If a country launched a preemptive strike against the United states you can be sure that the initial launches would be done with a level of subterfuge.

IOW, the identity of the attack would be masked (subs etc), and it would take more than if you managed to figure out just who the bloody hell is attacking.

Therefore, who to counterattack? Is it Russia, China, North Korea? Just turn the whole eastern hemisphere north of the equator into glass?

Those decisions would reside with military personnel perhaps only the final notch in a cog with the presidential code.... That is if FLOTUS can manage to wake him up from his nana nap.

All I can say is (seeing that this is the conspiracy theory thread) I hope the little green men can jam the weapon systems and save all our a55es.

How the CIA gets around Congressional Oversight Committees......

Just letting everyone know in case anyone wants to join in. 😁
