Syrian Civil War

That would not make no sense. If Putin managed to get Trump to agree to that, it would meanTrump is just his patsy.

Putin just lost Syria to essentially the Daesh along with his naval port. Why would that mean Trump would let him have everything he wants? Trump hates losers.
You would be surprised: Assad loss is the US win and the EU doom, and a revert for Putin vs his naval bases.
All great for US as is Ukraine
Will be interesting to see about the Russian bases, are they holding them?
Are the US already there?

The book about Syria i recommend, even to you @Knobby22 if you want yo know more about that country outside ABC/US channels caricatural view.
The dark side of love
Rafik Schami
And not an unpleasant read from memory.
@Dona Ferentes , you might enjoy that one I think

Seems like the russians keep control on the bases after a deal with the Islamists, which could explain the quick fall of Assad, a kind of exit deal...
Now which rebel are we talking about, Al Qaeda, the US proxies, the Turkish proxies?
Interesting in a strategic point, sad for the slaves coming on sale on the dark web soon...

The Turks are the winners geopolitically.

yet another chapter in the Turk v. Russia long game.
I mentioned that years ago, Eurasia is going toward Poland, Turkey, Russia as poles of power and do conflicts
Mexico in Americas, and India China for the other big boys.
In our neighbourhood, obviously Indonesia, Nigeria for Africa.
Middle east not sure...
I hope you noted that the first supporters of the Al Qaeda leaders in charge now in Syria was Qatar, currently supporting Hamas .
France seems enamoured with Qatar . Stockholm syndrome?

Rushing back to take over their non sunni neighbour houses and properties?
I am really looking forward reports from the German Austrian border with the 1 million Syrians queueing to get out of Germany and return to the caliphate eldorado....
There could be an Exodus the other way also, all the Assyrian Orthodox Christians escaping an almost certain genocide.

They should as should the allawis, the druzes and the kurds..
ASAP while the situation is still chaotic.
The west will probably reject them not that it matters as borders are open but wo money;
Lebanon maybe as if that poor country did not have had enough on its plate
But I guess it will be hard for them to escape and genocide is probably already on the way, just killing old regimes allies in battle or similar stories, and who will tell...

Of interest:
Syria From UN website
Main languages: Arabic (official), Kurdish (Kirmanji dialect), Armenian, Aramaic, Circassian, Turkish.

Main religions: Sunni Islam (74%), Alawite Islam (11%), other Muslim (including Ismaili and Ithna'ashari or Twelver Shia) (2%), Christianity (including Greek Orthodox, Syriac Orthodox, Maronite, Syrian Catholic, Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic) (10%), Druze (3%).

Main minority groups: Alawi Muslims 2.1 million (11%), Christians of various denominations 1.9 million (10%), Iraqi refugees 1.5-2 million (7.8-10.4%), Kurds 2-2.5 million (10- 15%), Druze 580,000 (3%), Palestinians 442,000 (2.3%), Isma'ilis and Ithna'ashari or Twelver Shia 386,000 (2%), Armenians 323,000 (1.7%). [Note: Percentages for Sunnis, Christians and Druze are taken from US CIRF, 2007. That report lists 'other Muslims', including Alawi at 13%. The UK FCO's Syria country profile lists Alawi as 11%, so that leaves 2% as Ismaili and Twelver.
Note:
irakis..why refugees in Syria if it was such a horrendous place while Irak is such a liberated back to the western civilised world country?
Overall:
The Sunni are just above 50% of the population so pogroms will be huge :-(

Stepping back, what happened
From other news, Israeli airforce has launched 300+ strikes on syria in the last couple of days, destroying as much weapon and warehouse as possible while in parallel taking oven Golan Heights...
Poor Syria...
French news reporting a few hundred french jihadists were amoung the "rebels" taking control..
That's probably the french version of " Green berets" 😂

And from the abc :
After an intense search for prisoners reportedly held underground at the Saydnaya prison, the White Helmets rescue group said it found no "evidence of undiscovered cells or basements".

Yep, forlorn hope, if they haven't got them out now, they are dead.

Apologies for the typos was on the move is my lame excuse...

Assad supporters are being executed in the streets in Syria en masse.

Yet no protests in our streets, not a peep. Strange that.

In the last 3 days, 218 killed as turkey is taking over..and wiping out kurds in the north
The butcher of Istanbul? Of course not, democracy taking over😭
And in French, just as the EU closes its border to Syrians:

"
218 morts dans des combats entre forces pro-Ankara et pro-kurdes en trois jours"

kurdish news I believe:
Horror is now recorded live proudly by the envoys of the "religion of peace"
Please note that the video in the hospital is "distressing" especially when considering we nearly directly help to provide these bullets thru our taxes, our billions toward the US military and our ukraine/NATO (turkey) support.
Last week, the Australian navy was trying its first tomahawk launch off san diego, we are hand in hand with the US and so with the Turks logistics,
