In the days when The Commonwealth of Australia included The State of New Zealand as an equal Member of the Commonwealth of Australia there were lots of strange happenings with Chinese Immigration
None of our States let any more Chinese into their ports and turned them all back
The only State that allowed the Boats to land was the great State of NZ
They were then not invited to join to the Great New Federation of AUSTRALIA

Since The All Ords did not exist in those days we can only follow The DOW JONES
For those who love their Fundamental Analysis / Politics /Economic texts etc etc
All you need to do is Read all the old Newspapers of the day

I have just discovered how small this planet is!
My Son also played a few games for the AFL Essendon FC and made lots of contacts as you did

One of who was "Banksie" who left Melbourne and went West to make his fortune in the Mining Industry
I don't know if you were in the same time zones?

However, As a great mate Banksie advised my son to have a GOOD LOOK at WC8 3 years ago in the Cinderella year for Gold and then again a few weeks back in the Cinderella Comeback in LITHIUM

All I had to do is check out the Seaworthiness in the Charts
and
The Rest is History
