What happened to Mrs Stan Highfield ?
Someone went down the rabbit hole
Thanks to u/hansplace1 for discovering the Highfields' names. I went down a rabbit hole.
Stan was born 19 August, 1924 in North Fitzroy. He altered his age by a year when he enlisted in the army in 1939, stating it as 19 August 1923 to be taken as 16 rather than his real age of 15.
Shirley's maiden name was Shirley Elizabeth Edwards. I think she came from Launceston (there's a Shirley Elizabeth Edwards about the right age who won a scholarship in the early 1940s).
Stan and Shirley married in 1946 in Victoria.
In 1952, Shirley appeared in the paper after giving birth to her fifth child on her 21st birthday! Here she is:
That article gives Stanley's profession as a driver, and he was still a driver in 1954 when the family were living in Electra Ave, Burwood South. By 1959, Stan was working as a lighthouse keeper on Deal Island in Bass Strait. He was there when he injured his eye while repairing a refrigerator, and rough seas prevented him accessing medical treatment. However, he was safely taken off the island five days after his injury.
There's no word in the paper on whether Shirley and the kids were with Stan on Deal Island, but he must have enjoyed the lighthouse keeper's life because in 1963 the electoral roll sees Stan and Shirley living at Cape Schanck where Stan was the lighthouse keeper. Electoral rolls show them there till at least 1968, but by 1972 they've moved to Kellett St in Northcote. Stan is back to being a driver, and Shirley is working as a telephonist, which appears to have been a public service job.
In 1977 they are living at 107 Russell St in the city. Shirley's still working as a telephonist, but Stan's occupation is now caretaker. In 1980 they've moved to 223 William St in the city (the old County Court building) and are living with one of their daughters. Shirley's back to home duties and Stan's still a caretaker. That's where the electoral roll trail ends. I guess they retired to Queensland.

Kids sex education book becomes no. 1 best seller in Australia. USA tactics of using Karen's to abuse staff at Woolies while filming themselves for social media led to them being taken off the shelf but the publicity has massively increased sales.
Yumi Stynes said it was great to be selling strongly but now she has to deal with Daily Mail reporters staking her house and crazies targeting her.
A Karen said that kids should learn about sex through pr0n freely available on their phones just like they did. Made that last bit up.

Middle schoolers who protested trans athlete’s participation are banned from future competitions
Five West Virginia middle schoolers who protested a transgender athlete’s participation in a track and field competition have been barred from future meets — prompting the state attorney general to ask the US Supreme Court to weigh in on transgender student-athlete bans for a second time.
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey filed a lawsuit against the Harrison County Board of Education on the dissenting students’ behalf after they were blocked from upcoming meets following their protests at the April 18 shot put competition, West Virginia Watch reported.
Five girls from Lincoln Middle School stepped up to the circle for their turn before refusing to throw in the event, which was won by Becky Pepper-Jackson, a 13-year-old girl who takes puberty-blocking medication and estrogen hormone therapy.
