Good morning everyone and welcome to the September 2020 stock tipping competition! :)

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by FP Markets.

FP Markets is an Australian owned and ASIC regulated broker with over 12 years experience and 35 industry awards including Highest Overall Client Satisfaction 5 years running. They facilitate trading in equities, indices, commodities, futures, Forex and Bitcoin via their MetaTrader4 platform.

FP Markets offer 10,000+ equities, indices and commodities across all major international markets. All equity CFDs are DMA priced and 100% hedged. FP Markets are not a market maker so their interests are aligned with that of their clients. You can go long on everything listed on the ASX and international markets and they have the widest short offering of any Australian broker.

This month there were two entrants who forgot to post in the thread of their stock tip in accordance with the competition rules: @makteb and @samuilk. I will give those two entrants another 48 hours to post in the thread of their competition entry. If they choose to do so I will add them to the September competition.

Could all qualifying entrants please check their entry and entry price and report any errors to me in this thread.

Keep track of the results here: ASF Stock Competition Leaderboard

Feel free to discuss the competition in this thread as the month progresses.

End of the first week's visual journey of all entries in the September Tipping Competition.

Apologies for the late chart but not home until early hours this morning.

A great start to the Comp by @Garpal Gumnut and @Faramir for 1st and 2nd. :xyxthumbs (Sorry I didn't take the screenshot yesterday @Faramir);)

Not a good day for most yesterday with the XAO dropping by 3% and quite a few entries dropping by more than this but there is plenty of time left in this comp. Enjoy the weekend everyone. :)

Psst: Don’t tell anyone. I won Mon 7 Sept. I actually know very little about OLL and have no idea why it has gone up?? I better say no more - otherwise I could change it’s luck. :D

Wow, another solid day...

It's your stock pick Faramir. Well done. So I won't say no more.

But if you'd like me to do a full run down for ASF members, of why I reckon OLL is heating up, I am happy to do so upon your permission...

Hi @aus_trader
If you have the time to look at OLL, that will be great for everyone if you can provide your thoughts. My thoughts are very simple. I take part in the comp just to add simple posts here and there. I like looking at others and see how they pick stocks for short term trades. This month is only at the beginning and there’s still a long way to go.

OK Faramir, as for your wish this is my take on OLL.

In it's most simplified explanation why I reckon it's getting attention is, two words: Online Education.

To expand the above point, a lot of things including retail are going more and more online and the pandemic situation has put fuel to that fire. Online education is no different. So I think OLL is at the right place at the right time.

I don't hold, but I would definitely be putting OLL to my watchlists of interested stocks to consider. I have made a tidy profit of around 50% on another online education stock 3PL that recently got taken over, all the details are in the Speculative Stock Portfolio.

So if 3PL is the Online Education stock for the School kids, then OLL is the stock that is for the bigger kids like us. :D
